Excellent property located 1 mile from downtown La Fortuna, the house is a great option for families traveling together, friends and couples. There is 5 bedrooms with A/C, also a central unit located in the living room and kitchen area will keep you fresh and cool after the daily adventures and 3.5 bathrooms. Besides the swimming pool area surrounded by beautiful gardens with tropical flowers, great view of the Arenal Volcano from the house.

A large house located just 2 minutes away from town (Driving), located in a very secluded, private and secure neighborhood; where you can relax and enjoy the comfort that all areas of the house give you. There are 5 rooms so is an excellent option for family meetings or friends meeting, even we can a plan an event in the open areas. You will have everything you want taking this property for you next Costa Rica vacation.

Room 1: King sized bed, bunk bed single (2 single beds) and full bathroom.
Room 2: Double bed, single bed, bunk bed single (2 single beds) and full bathroom.

Hi my name is Sergio Brenes I’m a chef with over 15 years of experience. I fell in love with cooking thanks to my grandma. I started Nativo Chef 2 years ago so you can enjoy local quality food from your Airbnb.

Breakfast includes coffee, orange juice and fresh fruit from $35. Lunch and dinner are both 3 courses with a cocktail included from $80. We have kids, veggie and gluten free options.

We also have a bartender service, cocktail classes and cooking classes. We’re happy to work on special menus for you.

Great place

This was perfect for our family of nine. It very close to the water hole that everyone likes to swim in. It was walking distance to a couple restaurants. The kitchen had plenty of supplies and room for everyone. The host was on site and was very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend it.

What an incredible stay for my family and I in La Fortuna. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable and the AC's in the room were cold. The house host was very kind and available for anything we needed. The pool area was clean and we spent every night lounging around enjoying the sounds of nature. We had 5 people and had more than enough room. One of the best VRBO's I've stayed in. I have zero complaints. The remote gate to enter definitely made if feel completely safe. Close enough to town you could walk, but we never did. (Not great sidewalks and could be dangerous, because of vehicles, not the area)

Amazing family location

We had the best time here. We had a group of 11 including 6 adults and 5 kids from 3 to 8 years old. The pool isn't deep so it worked really well with the kids. The operators of the property are really responsive over WhatsApp and helped us get some good deals on tours. The proximity to town is also really convenient with a short walk or 1000 colones for an Uber.Would highly recommend this location and we had an amazing time.

Lovely home

The house is extremely dated and Furniture not in great condition. Master bath has one sink, one light bulb in entire room and luke warm water to tub that is a shower only.

Great Home in LaFortuna

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The owners live in a separate house on the property and we’re very welcoming. You only see them when you need them so you have a lot of privacy. We had Eder book all of our excursions and they were fantastic. We are already planning our next trip to LaFortuna!!

Great location, great property.

It is a very nicely located， everything is 10 minutes or less. Owner lives just next door. The washet and dryer us a huge plus since it rains everyday. It does have a few issues with the house but it didn't bother us. The plumbing is old, needed fixing or replacement. Otherwise it is good with teens.

A Great Stay

This huge property is perfect for a group! Our group of 11 had tons of space and absolutely enjoyed our stay. Eder was amazing to work with and I highly recommend working with him. The house is an easy walk to nearby restaurants or to grab a quick item from the store. It is on a side street and gated and totally safe. The outdoor space is great for relaxing and the kids enjoyed the pool. Pura Vida.

Home away from home

Our stay at this house was wonderful. I left a review already but here is another. The house was spotless clean and very comfortable. The pool was immaculate and we enjoyed the waterfall and bbq deck. Gisselle is an excellent cook and teacher. We loved her cooking class for tortilla making. We couldn’t have asked for more. Pura Vida!

Fantastic place for family in LaFortuna!

All great. Absolutely nothing I can say that was bad. Very clean. We had a family of 9, and there was plenty of room. Great location, walking distance to the city if you don't have a rental. All rooms had great A/C. Beds were all good. Plenty of hot water even when everyone was using it. Have Guiselle next door cook for you. Yes, there are plenty of good restaurants in LaFortuna, but it was very convenient, great food and it makes your vacation easier. Thanks for the fantastic food! We would go back anytime!

Excellent rental home in La Fortuna

The house had everything we needed and was exactly as advertised. This is not a "fancy" house, but we actually enjoyed staying here more than the much more expensive house we stayed in Manuel Antonio. The house was very clean. This would be an UNBELIEVABLE deal for a large group as the house can sleep up to 17 people. We stayed with 4 adults and 3 kids who loved playing in the pool. The property managers live onsite and we took advantage of doing the costa rican cooking classes with them which was unbelievably fun. Highly recommended.

Group of 15 people

This was our 1st time in Costa Rica and the overall experience was amazing. We were a group of 15 ages 24- 35. Eder was extremely helpful in setting up all activities, transportation, and even meals. Some things I'd recommend doing would be the hanging bridges tour, ziplining, and Arenal volcano hike. We pretty much did this all in about 2 days which I thought was enough time. The property was about a 15 minute walk to downtown La Fortuna where you have different food options. About 10 minutes from the house was a local watering hole where we went and got to swim. The house was perfectly located, and gated which was not needed but nice to have. Additionally, we ate breakfast each morning at the house where we got home cooked meals which were very good and affordable. Overall, great experience and highly recommend.

Home is showing age, needs more dishware and unsure of the safety of the area

I would consider staying again and would compare with other options first. The Arenal Family Home is showing its age but has a few perks. The bedrooms have an excessive number of beds and most of them are comfy. There is also sufficient floor space in the rooms for suitcases which is needed as there are very few drawers and dressers for clothing. The home provides a mostly bug free accommodation for about 14-16 people but only blankets for 10. The kitchen has 4 cupboards screwed shut which is okay as there are many cupboards and less dishware. More bowls are needed (ideally 1 for each guest) and a baking sheet would also reduce the creatively required for cooking. I would also suggest to bring your own spices as the only spice included is white sugar. Dishwashing is completed in intimate proximity to each other as there is no dishwasher and the single sink is near the corner. The stove and oven are run from a portable propane bottle which may run out at an inconvenient time from experience. Outside there is lovely pool in a picturesque setting. Unfortunately, navigating into the pool has some hazards as the concrete slopes are dreadfully slippery when wet. In addition, there are two steps inside the pool on the edges which are the same color as the bottom and will test the durability of your shin bones. Lastly, internet search March 26th 2025 La Fortuna in Spanish as there was an altercation early in the morning and heavy police presence.

Awesome Escape!

This property was amazing! Our family enjoyed the privacy and yet closeness to town. The pool was fun for the kids and outdoor space amazing to relax after a day of exploring. Internet was great allowing for remote work.

Absolutely perfect place for a large family of 11! Giselle cooked breakfast for us the first day. The home is close enough to walk to a grocery store, some restaurants and a great swimming hole! We enjoyed the pool, the hammocks and watching the sloths and macaws in nearby trees. We felt safe the entire time. I would highly recommend this place!

This is a very beautiful property that nicely and comfortably accommodated our group of 8 adults. It's spacious, pool area is great, 13 minute walk to town and shorter for a couple close restaurants. We felt very safe! Giselle is a lovely host and we accepted the option for an on-site meal for a couple of our lunches.

Huge lot, many fun outdoor spaces for everyone. Grass area, pool, lounging area. Lots of tables. Loved having a washer and dryer. Especially in the rainforest.

Great place on the edge of town!

The house was great, we managed to fit 13 people without much issue! Location was great, only a minute from downtown La Fortuna. The outdoor space was amazing, our kids basically lived at the pool and we enjoyed cooking on the open grill under the covered portico. The house was super clean, we would definitely recommend staying here if you need a large house close to town.
