Nina's Cottage - aka Grandma's House of Silverhill
In these COVID-19 times, we want you to know that we are taking cleaning and changeovers very seriously. We are cleaning deep, that has always been our standard. Enjoy contactless check-in and relax in Nina's country kitchen or sit on the porch and bask in the pine tree fabulousness :)
Nina's Cottage is a quaint farmhouse that my Czech grandmother lived in when they came to Alabama in the 1920's to farm. It has a country feel with a big front porch and lots of comfortable living. This unique farmhouse is a throw-back to an earlier time. The house has recently undergone an extensive renovation. New drywall, updated cabinets, new windows and doors and so much more. Your personal home including a living room, huge open eat-in country kitchen, 2 bedrooms with queen beds, large bathroom, laundry and enclosed back porch. The front porch is spacious and perfect for relaxing. A rural experience minutes away from downtown Fairhope. Groceries, gasoline, pharmacies, hospitals are even closer.

Our 3 piece band needed a place to stay that fit the budget allowed by the job for which we were booked. This little place was perfect. And the porch was great for relaxing from the noise of performing. We hope to get to come back!
The host was extremely responsive and was able to accommodate our early check in requests. We were traveling for soccer and she not only made arrangements for early check in but also land treats awaits our children. The joys was impeccably clean and SO cozy. I loved reading about the history of the home! We will definitely be coming back any time we have soccer tournaments nearby. .
Ms. Barbara was amazing. We arrived late, but easily found it with a sign posted by the road. She even left the lights on for us! Charming place! We'll stay here again!
Well preserved and peaceful home. Very clean, cozy and has everything we needed for the stay. Beds are comfortable and the decor is nicely thought out. A lot of fun books to read. Highly recommend.
Our family loved our stay here. You won't be disappointed.

Homestead cottage that was redone into an adorable fully renovated 2 bedroom one very large bathroom full kitchen and living room! Loved the old refinished hard wood floors and the beautiful tile flooring in the kitchen and bathroom. Had all the comforts of home!!!!
This is one of the cutest, coziest homes i've had the pleasure of spending time in. Nina's cottege is surrounded by pines, so that first breath when you walk out on the porch in the morning is full of freshness. It charges you up the day ahead. The home is very clean and absolutely charming, from the front porch to the dishes. My 4year old did not want to leave! Special thanks to the host for excellent communication before and during our visit and for the snacks! We will be certain to come back here in the future
The weather was beautiful, the home adorable, and Mrs. Barbara is an amazing lady!
We could not have relaxed more or been so well located for everything we wanted to see and do. Our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts!

Perfect family holiday retreat
Our family booked Grandma's House for our annual Christmas visit to Fairhope. We couldn't have had a better experience. Barbara's hospitality is such a gift, and the home itself was absolutely perfect for our stay. Having laundry accessibility is an added bonus. We will be staying here again and again for future visits to Fairhope.

Excellent stay. I would return any time!
Hostess was very gracious. The property was very clean, organized with extras that were very welcoming (snacks, laundry detergent, wine, etc). It was comfortable and private. Just as described and perfect for our event in Fairhope.
We were only there for one night but it was everything we were looking for. Cozy comfortable place to relax and get ready for our disc golf tournament. Was within 10 minute drive to both courses. Will stay here again in the future.
Cute little cottage that we could have easily lived in. It would easily house two couples. The beds were super comfy and the sheets, pillows and towels were top notch. The bathroom was large and had plenty of drawers to use. Highly recommend!
Selecting this cottage for our family was a fantastic decision. It offered a peaceful environment, and the peanut farm in the background was fascinating. The property was adorned with beautiful flowers & many trees and the host was exceptionally gracious and accommodating. We would happily choose to stay here again. Undoubtedly, this has been the best VRBO stay I've experienced so far!
The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking and the check in process was great since I got in late. Barbara was so sweet! She went and turned on lights in the cottage for me so I wasn’t walking into a dark strange place. The cottage is as advertised and has everything thing you need. I would recommend this cute cottage to anyone looking for a quite off the beaten path accommodation.
Charming historic cottage but smell of cigarettes put a damper on things for me
This is a cute cottage a little ways out of town from Fairhope. Very peaceful country setting. I was greeted by our sweet host as I pulled in the driveway. Very clean and accommodating cottage with washer and dryer and front and back porch. Extra touches like seasonal decor and snacks and water bottles. My only complaint was that it smells like cigarette smoke throughout and given that I have a chronic cough this was very disappointing for me. I am not sure if a previous guest had smoked in the home or what. I aired things out by opening the front door which helped but if you are sensitive to smoke /cigarettes you need to consider this.
We needed a place to stop and still feel distanced from everyone, but close by amenities. We stopped in our our driveway back from Florida to Texas. Restaurants were 12 minutes away, but we were in the country… we loved it. 2 bedroom house and everything was as described. We even got little extra snacks, super helpful to hold the kids off when we stayed. Beds were comfy and everything was clean and well kept. Hosts were responsive.

Great place to stay!
Very charming home. Mrs. Sharp was in contact with us immediately insuring we knew how to get there and once we did we were amazed! Very well kept home in the country and very private. We arrived to complimentary coffee with all the trimmings, chocolate and wine. The home was warm and cozy and we had everything we needed as well as our furry kids. Very close to downtown and the grocery store. We grew up in Fairhope and this was one of the best places we have stayed. Just excellent! We will be back to stay again, and thank you Mr. and Mrs. Sharp for all your hospitality!

Quaint & peaceful property perfect for a quiet getaway
This place is so charming, and it makes for such a relaxing stay. The area is rural and quiet, but is easily accessible to Fairhope or Robertsdale (each are about 10 minutes away). Barbara is the perfect hostess. She is accommodating and friendly, and she keeps her cottage immaculate! We had everything we needed for our stay, and the place was spotless even though she had another group check out earlier in the day. It was also so nice to be able to bring our Golden Retriever with us - he really enjoyed wandering around the huge lot. All the amenities here were just right. From the comfy beds, to the large well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, the lovely furnishings, everything was made for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We hope to be able to come back again any time we travel to the area!
