About this property
Nina's Cottage - aka Grandma's House of Silverhill
In these COVID-19 times, we want you to know that we are taking cleaning and changeovers very seriously. We are cleaning deep, that has always been our standard. Enjoy contactless check-in and relax in Nina's country kitchen or sit on the porch and bask in the pine tree fabulousness :)
Nina's Cottage is a quaint farmhouse that my Czech grandmother lived in when they came to Alabama in the 1920's to farm. It has a country feel with a big front porch and lots of comfortable living. This unique farmhouse is a throw-back to an earlier time. The house has recently undergone an extensive renovation. New drywall, updated cabinets, new windows and doors and so much more. Your personal home including a living room, huge open eat-in country kitchen, 2 bedrooms with queen beds, large bathroom, laundry and enclosed back porch. The front porch is spacious and perfect for relaxing. A rural experience minutes away from downtown Fairhope. Groceries, gasoline, pharmacies, hospitals are even closer.

I rented the cottage for two of my Brothers who were coming to visit me because I didn’t have enough bedrooms for them. So the cottage was only used for sleeping. It was near my place and worked out well for our visit together. The cottage was very cute and clean and my Brothers enjoyed sleeping there.
Our 3 piece band needed a place to stay that fit the budget allowed by the job for which we were booked. This little place was perfect. And the porch was great for relaxing from the noise of performing. We hope to get to come back!
This little cottage is located in a quiet little area thats beautiful and peaceful. The cottage itself is well stocked, very clean, and so cute. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We will absolutely consider staying here again in the future! Thank you for sharing your beautiful and historic home with us.
We enjoyed the peaceful neighborhood, sittingvon the large front porch enjoying early mornings and late afternoon country views of a tree covered lot with birds to enjoy. The house was very clean, comfortable, just as described. Very private. Host provided many non essentials which were nice surprises. Bottled water, cold in the frig, a basket full of nice snacks, plenty of towels, shower needs, anything needed, it was there. The refrigerator has an ice maker, a huge plus for us! We slept well on comfotable beds with plenty of pillows. The furniture was also very comfortable and large screen TV, able to watch whatever we wanted. Plenty of closet space. The bathroom is is spacious with a nice showerhead and laundry room available too We did not cook but the kitchen is fully equipped and appliances all look brand new, including a dishwasher. Host was amazing and readily available. We come to Loxley every year as vendors at The Strawberry Festival. This home has been wonderful for us and the best rental in 9 years of coming here. I will be booking again as soon as dates for the festival are release
Well preserved and peaceful home. Very clean, cozy and has everything we needed for the stay. Beds are comfortable and the decor is nicely thought out. A lot of fun books to read. Highly recommend.
Ms. Barbara was amazing. We arrived late, but easily found it with a sign posted by the road. She even left the lights on for us! Charming place! We'll stay here again!
Property is very pretty and the location was perfect. The setting was quiet and beautiful. Coffee on the front porch was a wonderful way to start our day! The cottage is very comfortable and very well equipped. This was, without a doubt, one of the cleanest rentals that I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. We will definitely return to Nina’s Cottage.

Perfect family holiday retreat
Our family booked Grandma's House for our annual Christmas visit to Fairhope. We couldn't have had a better experience. Barbara's hospitality is such a gift, and the home itself was absolutely perfect for our stay. Having laundry accessibility is an added bonus. We will be staying here again and again for future visits to Fairhope.

Excellent stay. I would return any time!
Hostess was very gracious. The property was very clean, organized with extras that were very welcoming (snacks, laundry detergent, wine, etc). It was comfortable and private. Just as described and perfect for our event in Fairhope.
The host was extremely responsive and was able to accommodate our early check in requests. We were traveling for soccer and she not only made arrangements for early check in but also land treats awaits our children. The joys was impeccably clean and SO cozy. I loved reading about the history of the home! We will definitely be coming back any time we have soccer tournaments nearby. .
The weather was beautiful, the home adorable, and Mrs. Barbara is an amazing lady!
We could not have relaxed more or been so well located for everything we wanted to see and do. Our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts!

Why they chose this property
Nice country atmosphere but close to groceries, shopping, medical, etc.
What makes this property unique
Staying in your own single family dwelling while vacationing is so much nicer than staying in a hotel;) Come check-out our southern hospitality!
