This is an end unit with ocean views from inside the unit not just from the balcony. New owners with a new décor. Master bedroom features a king bed, en-suite bath with a walk-in shower. The guest bedroom has a queen bed. The second full bathroom has a tub/shower combination.

The sought-after Shipwatch Community is located on the stretch of beach between the historic Coast Guard Station and Massengale Park. With just 52 units in the complex, Shipwatch is a favorite destination for families, couples and snowbirds alike.

Amenities include secured gated entry, pool, covered parking, grass lawn, community grill and private boardwalk to the beach.

Cozy and convenient

It's not easy to find beach rentals for one, but this unit was just right for me. Quiet, beach accessible, covered parking (this matters on HOT days), and comfy. Definitely would stay again!

Love Shipwatch, the walk to the beach needs fix’in

Have stayed at Shipwatch many times. Appreciated how the management co handled our request the first day, quick and as agreed. The walk to the beach is getting worse each year. Now with all the rain, it’s a mess. If my family included young children and a lot of kit for the beach, I would not rent again here because of the wet and muddy walk to the beach.

We lucked into getting an rental on the end that overlooked the pool and the beach, and we also enjoyed the breeze blowing in from that direction. The condo had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay, including the washer/dryer and a kitchen stocked with every utensil we needed. We expect to be back in the future.

We had a great time

This is our second year coming back to St Simons but first time staying here. Cute little condo but could use some updating/deeper cleaning. The tub didn’t have any hot water nor would it hold water when trying to plug it. We have a 1.5 year old who only takes baths, so this was difficult. There was stuff left behind from previous guests. The condo was close to the beach but not right on it. Still a good 5-7 min walk to the ocean— the condo would benefit by having a boardwalk all the way down to the beach as it’s very difficult to pull a wagon and everything for a child through the deep sand/small pathway. Other than that, it was close to everything/ the pool is right there and the master bed was comfy. It had everything you needed - starter wise.

Unfortunately, all of the bugs that were in this unit put a huge damper on our opinion of this place. There were several types of bugs, from roaches to spiders. I thought the first few we came across was an isolated incident- unfortunately it was NOT! We squashed bugs from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We would gladly return to this condo if pest control could be implemented/maintained!

Reviewer Comments: I have written all of the issues in the handout that was provided to you upon departure regarding the gate code, distance from beach, run down outdoor area, pool age and upkeep, dogs roaming around, unsafe and unstable boards in the walkways, grab bar missing from entry bath, toilets very hard to flush, first toilet not working, no plungers and other. The unit itself was clean, the bed was amazing and comfortable, staff were extremely friendly and attentive.

Ship watch is a great condo development with easy access to the beach and its own pool. There was plenty of parking and the proximity to shops and restaurants is wonderful. Condo #201 was in beautiful shape and very clean. Really nice, well stocked and comfortable accommodations. The only issue we had was that the dryer did not work but I know that this was corrected for the next person, and we were able to be okay with it for our short visit.

NEEDS TO INFORM QUESTS DISTANCE FROM CONDO TO WATER(BEACH). MANY DOGS IN POOL AREA AND MOST WITH NO LEACH. INFORCE NOISE ORDINACE. DUST IN DRYER EVEN AFTER CEANING VENTS, (FIRE HAZZARD) NOT ENOUGH ITEMS IN KITCHEN, ( NO PITCHER) DUST HANGING FROM CEILING FANS, CONDO NEEDS A GOOD CLEANING. MANAGEMENT SHOULD INSPECT BEFORE QUEST CHECKIN.

Thanksgiving on Saint Simons Island

The family group of 12 created unique issues. The two of us had our own condo at Shipwatch. The remaining two families were in a house large enough for us all to gather for Thanksgiving dinner and Saturday football. All but one restaurant in the area we able to seat us at one table or many together. Getting out for sightseeing, shopping and golf for some was very good. It was a wonderful week stay.
