About this property

Historic apartment, Old Town Amboise, across from Château, close to restaurants

Lovingly restored and renovated to a high standard, the apartment is situated on the first floor of this early 17th century town house.The rooms are light, spacious and airy with large windows looking onto the ramparts of the Château Royal of Amboise. Ideally situated in the picturesque heart of the town, it is just a few moments stroll to excellent restaurants, cafés, shops and market.

Totally self-contained and independent, the apartment has a large living/dining room with high ceilings, fully equipped modern kitchen and 2 bedrooms, one with kingsize bed and the other with twin beds, each with their own en-suite shower room. Everything is prepared ready for your arrival - beds are made up and fluffy white towels and toiletries are provided.

The kitchen is fully equipped with large fridge, induction hob, dishwasher and washing machine. We have tried to combine modern fittings with the old existing features to provide a striking yet homely feel! There is free wi-fi throughout the property, along with television & DVD player.

The Royal Château, the Clos Lucé and Château Gaillard are all within easy walking distance, while Amboise offers the perfect base for visiting the Chateaux of the Loire and local vineyards. It's difficult to find a better base, as Amboise is perfectly situated in the very heart of the Loire Valley. The main jewels are all within easy striking distance - Château de Chenonceau, Chambord, Villandry and Chaumont are all nearby. Amboise is also situated on the Loire à Vélo cycle route which provides fantastic opportunities for traffic-free cycling in the area.

Great getaway in Amboise

Always responsive to inquiries, Tim and Carolyn were great hosts. The unit had ample room for two traveling couples, good kitchen for breakfast, (we ate out for dinner 😀), and the location was excellent. Would definitely recommend this unit to anyone wanting a nice comfortable stay in Amboise. Thanks Tim for all the starters when we arrived and the great pastries every morning!

Absolutely perfect location both in Amboise (close to the Chateau d’Amboise, a grocery store and restaurants) and for exploring the Loire Valley! Apartment is very well laid out for privacy, even for a family of four, with two separate bedrooms and two separate bathrooms. The kitchen is very well-appointed. The hosts provide the most-thorough and easily followed instructions for both how to get to the apartment, how to access the apartment and options for what to do when staying there. They also provide very clear information about the apartment itself - all of which made the stay very stress-free. Overall an amazing stay and amazing experience!

4 Nights in Amboise

We had a lovely stay in Coté des Remparts. The appartement was spacious, very well equipped and very clean. The location is excellent to discover Amboise as the touristic highlights and many restaurants are on walking distance. There is a free parking on walking distance, which makes it very convenient to discover the wider Loire region by car from this place. The communication with Steven went very smoothly. He was always very quick in his replies and gave good advices. We definitely recommend this appartement!

Lovely apartment, great location

Amboise is a great central location to see Loire chateaux. This apartment is located along the wall of one of them! It has been beautifully remodeled but retains its original charm. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Each bedroom has an en suite bath. The living room is very comfortable. It is on a quiet street, yet just a few blocks from a lively restaurant area. Parking along the river promenade is ample. The landlord’s instructions are excellent and we had no problems throughout our stay.

We could not recommend this charming accommodation highly enough. It was incredibly spacious, secure, quiet, clean and in the best part of town. The accommodation is tastefully decorated, the bed is incredibly comfortable, and with a Nespresso machine to enjoy. Tim and Steven are excellent hosts, very generous and kind. There is free parking on the doorstep, and amazing views of the chateau from your windows. I have never felt so French!!!!

Great house great location

We loved staying here for 4 days while our group (2 couples) toured the area. Almost everything was perfect. My only minor complaint was the bathroom floor in our room (the one with single large bed) was crumbling apart. The stone was breaking up and little pebbles we always there. There was a rug to cover part of floor but..... that was a minor thing and would not stop me from returning. The fresh bread and croissants every morning were great. Highly recommend as a perfect spot to tour the area.

Wonderful, Quiet and Charming

Tim and Carolyn were very welcoming and very attentive to any requests. The daily morning breakfast basket from the local bakery was such a nice treat. The apartment was very clean, well appointed and comfortable for a family of 4 and the location is unbeatable. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay including a washer for extended visits, but the washer was not a washer/dryer combination unit. There is a large drying rack that is available in the apartment which worked well, but just a tad inconvenient. We had been traveling in Paris and Normandy the week before and definitely appreciated the washer. This is our second trip to Amboise and we would definitely come back since it is such a great location for sight seeing around the Loire Valley. We highly recommend this lovely luxury apartment from Tim and Carolyn. Amboise is such a beautiful city to walk and the residents of Amboise are very welcoming. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Fabulous location, spotless and comfortable. With view of the castle which is across the street . Very quiet street. Charming, well appointed apartment with two full bathrooms and bedrooms. Carolyn and Tim add special touches and could not have been nicer or responsive. They are professionals and know how little touches make a vacation extra special. Would definitely stay there again and will recommend it to anyone who wants to visit beautiful and quaint Amboise.

Amazing location in a great Loire town of Amboise

We stayed in Amboise over the New Years holiday and had such a great time in this amazingly beautiful apartment. Very well appointed with so much charm, it was our favorite stay of all the places on our trip. Two bedrooms and two baths on different sides of the apartment make it very private for two couple traveling together. Tim and Carolyn are SO nice, and having fresh bread/croissants delivered every morning was fantastic! We stayed in on New Years day and cooked in the well appointed kitchen. Amboise is a wonderful central location for any of your wine or castle adventures. We visited Chambord and Chenonceau, but do not miss Amboise Castle too (which you can see from the living room window!!!). There is so much selection for dining in Amboise and quaint streets to wander and shop. There is a small grocery store downtown which makes it convenient for popping out to get more wine and cheese! I am already planning my next trip back.

There is so much to see and do on foot and Côté Remparts is within easy walking distance of all the main sites.
