Trullo Nascosto – A Private Puglian Hideaway with Pool & Jacuzzi
This ancient hidden Gem took five years to complete and has been lovingly restored with a Wasi Sabi style. It boasts a very distinct, very singular aesthetic, with a pool and jacuzzi. Surrounded by vast stretches of farmland, Olive groves, and a small forest, it is one of the most private Hidden secrets in Puglia, but within a few minute's drive to many of Puglia's popular tourist destinations, including, Alberobello, Monopoli, Fasano, Polignano al Mare, locorotondo and many other nearby villages. THE SPACE
Trullo Nascosto is formed from a collection of beautifully restored trulli and traditional stone barns, each retaining its original character while offering comfort throughout the year.
The main entrance opens into the spacious, open-plan living room, dining area and kitchen. Once an old barn, this welcoming room celebrates the building’s original architecture, with substantial wooden beams, traditional local chianche stone floors and softly finished natural walls. Handmade blue wooden windows frame peaceful views across the olive grove and woodland.
The living area includes an olive-wood dining table with four contemporary chairs and a generous sofa bed in soft, natural tones. A ceramic pellet stove creates a wonderfully cosy atmosphere during the cooler months, while air conditioning keeps the space comfortable in summer. A distinctive feature wall houses a large Smart TV, and complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
At the opposite end of the barn is a stylish U-shaped kitchen, fully equipped with high-quality appliances and everything needed for preparing relaxed breakfasts, lunches and evening meals.
THE KING-SIZE BEDROOM
Leading from the main living space, the king-size bedroom occupies another lovingly restored stone barn. It features traditional stone flooring, a large handmade wooden bed and individually designed furniture, including bedside tables, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe.
Particular attention has been given to comfort, with a quality memory-foam mattress, crisp white Egyptian-cotton bed linen and soft, luxurious pillows. Air conditioning and internal electric blinds help create a cool, restful sleeping environment.
THE TRULLO ROOM
A second room leads directly from the main living area and sits beneath the beautiful conical roof of an original trullo. The height and shape of the stone ceiling give this intimate space a remarkable feeling of light and tranquillity.
Furnished with a sofa bed, bedside table, chest of drawers and generous hanging space, it can be used as an additional sleeping area or during longer winter stays, this room can be transformed into a private home office with a proper desk, comfortable office chair, good lighting and fast Wi-Fi—creating a peaceful, dedicated workspace for digital nomads and remote workers.
THE BATHROOM
The trullo room connects to the final trullo, which houses the characterful main bathroom. It includes a large walk-in shower, a substantial stone basin, WC and bidet, all sensitively incorporated into the original stone architecture.

About the host
Hosted by sue howard
“My husband and I are originally from the Uk, but after years of demanding careers and busy lives—often with very little time together—we chose to create a different way of life in Puglia.
Having lived here for more than 25 years, we have developed a deep love and understanding of the region. We enjoy its stunning landscapes, beautiful weather, colourful local characters, hidden towns and villages, endless beaches and, of course, the many wonderful restaurants.
What we love most about hosting is sharing this special place with our guests. We enjoy offering personal recommendations, helping them discover authentic Puglia and ensuring they feel welcomed, comfortable and completely at home. It gives us enormous pleasure to see guests slow down, reconnect with one another and enjoy the peaceful lifestyle that first inspired us to make Puglia our home.”
Why they chose this property
“We chose this peaceful corner of the Valle d’Itria because it feels as though you are stepping back in time. Life here is slower, calmer and closely connected to nature, local traditions, family and wonderful food. The landscape is filled with ancient olive trees, trulli and picturesque hilltop towns, while the beautiful Adriatic coast is also within easy reach.
Trullo Nascosto offers the best of this very special area: complete privacy among its own olive grove and small woodland, yet it is ideally situated for discovering Alberobello, Locorotondo, Cisternino, Ostuni, Monopoli and Polignano a Mare. With no immediate neighbours, numerous outdoor seating and dining areas, a barbecue, private swimming pool and jacuzzi, it feels wonderfully peaceful and secluded—as close to off-grid living as possible, without sacrificing comfort.”
What makes this property unique
Trullo Nascosto is unique for its extraordinary privacy, authentic character and deep connection with the surrounding landscape. Hidden within acres of private land, the property is enclosed by traditional dry-stone walls and surrounded by a small woodland, sun-baked earth, ancient olive and almond trees, and aromatic Mediterranean herbs and shrubs.
The main house opens onto an original chianche stone terrace, furnished with comfortable outdoor seating and a traditional stone-built barbecue kitchen. From the large living-room doors, guests can step directly into a dreamy, shaded dining and lounge area, where a beautiful pagoda shelters a unique antique dining table and chairs.
The pale swimming pool, edged with natural wood, lawn and sun loungers, enjoys far-reaching countryside views towards Alberobello. At 1.30 metres deep, it is ideal for cooling off and relaxing, while the stone-surrounded jacuzzi—nestled among large rocks and fragrant herbs—looks across the pool and olive grove.
With numerous secluded places to sit, dine, read or simply enjoy the silence, no immediate neighbours and ample private parking, Trullo Nascosto offers a rare sense of peace and freedom. Yet despite its wonderfully isolated setting, it is ideally positioned for exploring the Valle d’Itria and the towns and beaches of the Adriatic coast, approximately 15 kilometres away.”
