About this property
1800s Fisherman's Cottage near Brixham Harbour
A peaceful and centrally-located period style Fishermans cottage. Just a stone’s throw from the harbour and all its amenities, Palm Cottage provides the perfect base for exploring the local area and anything further afield. Built in the 1800s for the local quarry men, it’s full of history and charm. Recently renovated and re-furnished, the cottage provides you with comfort for up to four people to enjoy and one small, well-behaved dog.
Here at Your Devon Escape we intend to leave you alone to enjoy your visit but we are on hand to assist with queries if required.
You will find Brixham Harbour a ten-minute walk away which is home to plenty of cafés, bars and restaurants serving today’s catch straight from the bay. Enjoy paddle boarding on the nearby Breakwater Beach or swim in the Shoalstone Outdoor Pool.
Brixham is a favourite all year round for dog lovers and walkers alike. The coastline at Brixham is dominated by one of the UK’s greatest and best-loved nature trails – The South West Coast Path. Just down the road (via the number 18 bus or a ten-minute drive) is Kingswear. Hop on the steam train to Paignton, Churston and Totnes from here. Or take the upper or lower ferry across to Dartmouth; this is simply a must. The ferry from Brixham Harbour takes thirty-minutes to Torquay where there are excellent restaurants, beautiful coastal walks and great beaches.
The entire property and front and rear decking areas.
Palm Cott is really something special. Nestled a short walk from Brixham harbour, Palm Cott is typical of the pretty terrace-style properties found in the heart of the town. Built in the 1800s for the local quarry men, it’s full of history and charm.
As you walk through the front door, you are welcomed by a beautiful, bespoke oak kitchen and comfortable living area. Home to a wood burning stove, it is the perfect space for cosy evenings in with your loved ones.
Ascend the stairs and the hallway will guide you to the two bedrooms and family bathroom. The master bedroom is home to a large double bed, wardrobe and a comfortable chair perfect for an evening of reading. The second bedroom can be set up with either a king-sized bed or two single beds (please advise us when booking - twins are the standard). The family bathroom is tastefully decorated and fit with a shower, toilet and basin.
Palm Cott also offers a unique two-tiered decking area to the rear of the property. It is the perfect space for appreciating the sunshine on a warm day or a glass of your favourite tipple as the sun goes down. The cottage is also home to a patio area at the front of the property. It is equipped with a table and chairs, ideal for enjoying a morning coffee or for dining alfresco as you plan your day.
Ten minute walk to the harbour and town centre.
