The host was very professional. The property was located in central Ambleside on the main road. It was handy for popping into the town on foot. The road however, is extremely busy and noisy. Most nights we had very disturbed sleep as a result of this. The house met our needs but was not particularly homely. The garden is very well maintained but the house needs a bit of TLC. Salt and rinse aid in the dishwasher, more forks and decent sized bowls and a repair to the shower head and blind in the front top bathroom / bedroom would be on our initial job list. This said, we had a lovely holiday with the family and enjoyed 6 fantastic hikes in the most beautiful countryside.
