Hide away in our enchanting cottage overlooking Newgrange, the jewel in the crown of Ireland’s Ancient East. Ideally located between the picturesque villages of Slane and Donore, Riverside Cottage provides a waterside oasis for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle and explore the ancient offerings of the royal county.
The space Relax and rejuvenate in our 3 bedroom stone cottage just 40 minutes from Dublin. Originally a boat house, the cottage has been lovingly restored to a surprisingly spacious country residence. The ground floor comprises of an open plan kitchen/ living area, utility room, pantry and en-suite double bedroom. Upstairs you’ll find another two bedrooms (one double, one single/double sofa bed on request) and a family bathroom.
The living room has a wood burning stove, sofa, books, games and Bluetooth sound system for you to enjoy. The kitchen is fitted with a Rayburn cooker and 2 ring induction hob, kettle, toaster, plunge coffee jug, blender, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher.
Enjoy uninterrupted views of the river boyne and Newgrange monument from the house and garden, which is approached by a long private driveway providing perfect seclusion from the outside world.
The historic village of Slane is approx 4km from the property, with multiple shops, dining options and traditional pubs. In the other direction, you’ll find the entrance to Newgrange just a minute’s drive from the house.
Fishing (guided and unguided) is available at the property on request. In Slane, you’ll find riverside walks and water sports availability.
It is recommended that our guests arrive by car for ease of local adventuring. Guest access We request that guests do not access the river bank for safety reasons.
Other things to note Native Irish bees have made a home on our property. 🐝 We request that guests take caution and do not disturb the bees. Please bear this in mind if you have an allergy and are considering booking the property.
