Holiday in this fully insulated yurt with a wood burner and stargazing roof window, set in a peaceful rural haven with stunning countryside and lake views right from your private decking.. All on the Ground Floor:
Living/dining room: (No TV), Woodburner
Kitchen: Electric Oven, Electric Hob, Fridge/Freezer
Bedroom: Super Kingsize (6ft) Bed
Shower Room: Cubicle Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture and firepit. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There is an unfenced lake in the grounds.. Nestled in the hills of Melplash, Dorset, this fully insulated yurt is a hidden gem for those craving comfort and calm in the heart of nature.
Inside, a superking bed invites long, lazy mornings, warmed by the soft crackle of the wood burner. As night falls, lie back beneath the stargazing roof window and watch the constellations drift by. Just outside, your private deck hosts a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing breakfast or a glass of something special as the sun sets. The fire pit and outdoor furniture make it easy to linger outdoors, with sweeping views over the lake and across the surrounding valleys, a view that changes beautifully with the light of each day.
This tranquil spot is more than just a place to stay, it’s somewhere to explore, to breathe, and to reconnect. Wander through the orchard, where birds sing and the air carries the sweet scent of apples in season. Two lakes lie just a stone throw away, inviting you in for a refreshing swim or a quiet moment by the shore. Wildflowers, open skies, and gently rustling trees surround you, offering an ever-changing backdrop to your escape. While the setting feels blissfully remote, you’re just a short walk from the pub, a cosy village inn perfect for a pint or a hearty meal. Under four miles away, the vibrant town of Bridport offers markets, arts, and local flavour, while a 30-minute drive brings you to Charmouth Beach—ideal for fossil hunting and coastal walks.
With so much beauty and variety on your doorstep, this peaceful yurt is the perfect base for slow mornings, wild swims, long walks, and the simple joy of time well spent in nature. The owners also host wood-fired pizza evenings in their wood-fired pizza oven using local ingredients. The cost is £15 for adults and £7.50 for children. Beach 12 miles.
