We are located in the Village of Sugar Mountain, just west of Boone and Blowing Rock and only a few miles from the charming town of Banner Elk. Our condo is within walking distance of fun activities in any season: the ski resort (locker rental is included), skating, and tubing runs in winter; tennis courts and a scenic golf course from spring to fall, and mountain biking trails in summer. Other nearby attractions include the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, abundant hiking trails, zip-lining, The Land of Oz, Price Lake/Moses Cone and other popular spots along the Blue Ridge parkway. The nearby towns offer unique restaurants, shops to explore, live music and entertainment, multiple wineries and breweries, greenway trails, and farms. No matter what your interests, this location has it all.
Ours is a quiet end unit around a beautiful wooded lot with golf course views and a mountain stream, and is a lovely place for a retreat. Drive 5 minutes out of the village to find restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores, or stay put, relax and enjoy the sounds of nature from the covered deck.
The condo is tastefully decorated with a warm and inviting ambience. High-speed internet and cable TV will keep you connected, while the fully-equipped kitchen is inviting for cooks. The unit is on one floor with two roomy bedrooms and a living room with a pull-out sofa. The master bedroom has a connecting bathroom and there is a second full bathroom across from the guest bedroom. Both bedrooms contain TV’s and queen-sized beds. Perfect for two couples or a small family.
Pet policy: we will consider small-medium (<30 lbs) non-shedding dogs with prior permission and the purchase of damage protection insurance.

We had a great stay in Sugar Mountain. The condo was very clean. The beds were comfortable and communication with the host was super quick and very friendly. I would highly recommend.
This was the perfect condo for our mini ski vacation! It was impeccably clean, had everything we needed, and so convenient to the slopes!! We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend!
Loved staying here. We stayed over Thanksgiving week with our two kids 8 and 5. It was absolutely amazing. Clean, cozy and felt like home. We all cant wait to come back and stay here again when we visit.
My 9yr old and I love this spot as a base for our annual adventures to Tweetsie, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and more. Everything is an easy drive from Sugar Mountain- it’s a hassle free vacation !

Thank you, Jessica! We'd love to have you back anytime!
Our family loved the condo! It was clean, well-stocked and located close to the "main strip." (We didn't ski b/c we visited in April but seemed to be a great location for that as well.) Beds were comfy, and we loved that you could hear the creek from the deck!
Comfortable, quiet home - clean, and well appointed. This is the perfect location to enjoy all this area offers. All the sights we wanted to enjoy were less than a 30 minute drive. We’ll be back!

Everything was exactly how it appeared on the site. Great location, close to slopes, skating and tubing. Perfect for our family - dad, mom and twins. Would go back to this unit.

We're so glad you enjoyed it! Twins are the best (I'm one)!
This was our second year in a row staying at this condo for a girls weekend. It’s close to our favorite mountain towns like Blowing Rock. Very quiet area as well. The owner is very responsive. Thanks again for letting us stay at your beautiful condo again.
This condo was exactly what the pictures looked like online. It also was extremely clean which was huge for this OCD chick. The fireplace was wonderful for the cold nights and the location was perfect for us since we planned on spending most of our time in Blowing Rock for a girls weekend. The owners were great to deal with as well. Would stay here again for sure!
The host has done a lot to make sure everything you need is in the unit and everything is very carefully labeled. We had a couple of questions that were answered very promptly.

A quick weekend getaway for our son’s 16th Birthday. Easy walk to the slopes. The condo is equipped with everything you need. I loved that everything was labeled, easy for 16 year old boys to figure out stuff on their own, lol.
Communication was awesome with very quick responses. Can’t wait to go back!

I am so glad you enjoyed it! We would love to host you again anytime!
Best host yet for an Airbnb or VRBO property! We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The house had everything you could possibly need to to feel at home. The property is truly in walking distance of ice-skating, tubing and the ski slopes even with a five and seven-year-old in tow. Also the location is a perfect jumping off point to all the must do’s in the area. Kristi and Dave, thank you very much for ending our special trip to North Carolina on such a positive note and your recommendations were the best!
Our stay was wonderful! We enjoyed staying at this property. It was warm and cozy and had everything we needed! It was great to walk back after each day of skiing at Sugar Mountain. We used the kitchen to make a quick hot breakfast each morning, and one night we made dinner also. The beds were comfortable, and the foyer was helpful to put our boots on. Everything was labeled to show us where everything was. Kristi was awesome to work with, and everyone had a blast!
We had a great weekend getaway. The unit was very clean and had a fully stocked kitchen. The beds were cozy and the neighbors were quite. The AC worked great and there was a tv in both bedrooms. One thing I would change is add a smart tv so you can access Hulu or Netflix’s there was only ten channels but there is a DVD player.

Thanks, Julie! That was a good suggestion, and we just added a ROKU TV. We'd love to have you back anytime!
Kristi went well out of her way to help me out when I was searching for a location to have a socially distanced Thanksgiving with my sister's family. She walked around the area and took photos of various options and emailed them to me. What a super host! The place was very organized and clean. Great space for our family of 5 (oldest slept on the couch). Would return.
Everything about the property was great, with 2 exceptions;
1. Ants in the kitchen cabinet
Kristi addressed it promptly which we appreciated.
2. Beds were a bit soft. I think a new mattress would help.

Thank you, Roger! We are so sorry that you weren't completely satisfied. The ants were a surprise since the unit is treated regularly, and we're glad the company responded quickly. We are up here now, and agree with you about the mattress: the winter rental season seems to have pushed them over the edge. We have new ones coming for both bedrooms, so this shouldn't be an issue in the future. Thank you again for staying with us!
From the moment we drove into the little Sugar Mountain Village we knew we had found something special! This condo was so cozy, had every amenity we needed, and was so convenient to the areas and attractions. The owner was responsive and provided tips and info, making the trip even easier. There are nearby grocery stores, towns and we ended up getting to ski (first time for our family) which was such an incredible spontaneous adventure. Having this rental so close and not having to wait for transportation or drive far away was so nice. The bed was comfy and I loved the heater in the bathroom! We will absolutely be adding this rental to our list and return next time we stay at Sugar Mountain!!! Thanks for a wonderful time.

Thank you so much for this lovely review! We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay.
We enjoyed our two week stay, from Aug 4 to 17, in this lovely condo. It was extremely well equipped, clean, easily accessible, and convenient to the golf course and tennis courts. The owner was very accommodating to our medium sized dog, and we took special care that the condo was left clean for the next customer. We were also fortunate that we met a very charming couple that just acquired the adjoining lower condo, and they were very helpful in orientating us to the area. Kristi was responsive in all our dealings at all times. We never had to wait more than minutes to receive a response to any query we made to her. This was our first experience at Sugar Mountain and we are now considering renting again next summer.

About the host
Hosted by Kristi C.
We are now in our fourth year as owners, and love to share our home-away-from-home here at Sugar Mountain with you. We've lived in the Triangle area for decades now but are originally from NJ and NM. We have three kids and a dog who share our love of the mountains.
Why they chose this property
We have always loved the mountains, but with young children, we also wanted to be somewhere where there were things to do. After an extensive search, we decided on Sugar Mountain because of its proximity to everything. The Glen is charming and wooded and offers a sense of seclusion while still being within easy access of anything you might desire.
What makes this property unique
We maintain lists of recommendations and happily answer questions about the area and things to do.
