"When you go to Naples you cry twice: when you arrive and when you leave," they say. Naples is a unique city, to be experienced walking through the alleys, smelling the scent of gastronomic delicacies in the air and admiring its rich artistic and monumental heritage.
The apartment is located in one of the most authentic and charming areas of Naples, just a short walk from some of the city’s main points of interest.
The famous Palazzo dello Spagnolo and the Jago Museum are both about 200 meters from the property and are highly appreciated by visitors.
The Cathedral of San Gennaro, one of Naples’ most beloved landmarks, is also within easy walking distance, approximately 800 meters from the apartment.
In addition, the main entrance to the Capodimonte Park (Porta Grande/Porta Vecchia) is about 900 meters away and can be easily reached on foot or by car.
Naples has a distinctive culinary tradition for its famous Neapolitan pizza, and the art of its pizza makers has been declared an intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO.
Strolling through Spaccanapoli, the street that cuts the city in half, one traverses its thousand-year history thanks to the presence of ancient palaces and churches, such as the Duomo di Napoli and the Maschio Angioino. If there is one place that symbolises Naples, it is Piazza del Plebiscito, now a symbol of the new 'Neapolitan Renaissance' where tourists come to admire its grandeur and two jewels: the neoclassical colonnade of the church of San Francesco di Paola and the Royal Palace. Today it is also possible to visit 'the underground city', or the so-called 'belly of Naples', which served the Neapolitans as a shelter during the bombing raids, where tourists can walk through the Greco-Roman aqueduct, the air-raid shelters and finally visit the War Museum.
Particularly not to be missed is the San Severo Chapel, which houses the sculpture of the Veiled Christ, one of the most fascinating and mysterious works to be seen in Naples, the work of Giuseppe Sanmartino.
Naples Central Station is a 15-minute drive from the flat, while Naples Airport can be easily reached in less than 20 minutes by car. We suggest arriving via the Materdei metro station—its downhill route to the apartment makes for an easier walk. For leaving or moving on to other destinations, the best choice is Piazza Cavour station.
