Communication was terrible; messages went unanswered for weeks until we actually landed in Italy, after urgent messages fromus, whereupon the “assistant” for the owner messaged us that she thought we were arriving a month later. She sent someone else with the key and he didn’t have enough money for the correct change for the bed tax.The gas water heater made a terrible noise night and day, so loud it was hard to sleep. We contacted the assistant who told us there was nothing they could do.There was an appalling smell from the bathroom, which required us to open all windows (in January) and leave the apartment for a few hours. The apartment is large and well located but these problems make it awful to live there for a week. If I had not been required to pay the entire fee in advance I would have left.
