About the host
Hosted by Helena Flowers
Born in the Midlands I fell in love with the Isle of Skye on my first trip. I knew I wanted to buy somewhere and fell in love with what was then Millbrae. Little did I know the journey I would have to go on to renovate it to what you see today. There is a photo journal in the house should you like to review the transformation over the last 10 years. I have used the best quality products to ensure the house is exactly as I want it for when I finally get to retire there full time. In the meantime I would love to welcome you to the house and village so you can also fall in love with Skye, and my home.
Why they chose this property
Broadford is a lovely community village with all the local amenities in walking distance. Good food and drinks, local walks and a real sense of community. Further afield, what don't you have. Book a minibus trip to see the wildlife such as Sea Eagles and Golden Eagles. We have local otters, seals and dolphins.
In the area and whole of the Isle there are many crafts and tradespeople, several in this village, with Love From Skye being a favoured Jewellery shop. The small market area collects together crafts from all over the Isle. Or follow the Skye Artist Trail, updated each year.
Boat trips are another wonderful way to spend time when the sea is kind. Everyday can be walking day on Skye and the view can change within minutes depending on the light and weather, but you will never bore of it.
From the garden I have a view of the Red Cullin or Red Hill, Broadford Bay and the Mainland of Kyle of Localsh.

What makes this property unique
I've spent 10 years renovating this house to be a luxury accommodation, using local trades and supplies wherever possible. I want it not to be just a base for your explorations of the stunning Isle of Skye, but an experience you won't forget. Explore, hike, sight see and enjoy the Isle, then have a beautiful place to relax, fire up the hot tub, start the Kota BBQ whilst it heats up, view the stars through the telescope. Then have a soak and rest before retreating inside to the log burner and comfy sofas. If you are lucky you may even get a night suitable to see the Northern Lights.
