About this property
The Holt: beauty by the river
Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space.
The Holt enjoys an enviable position alongside the River Glen, with its own private patio to enjoy overlooking the river and the grazing horses (and llamas) in the fields. Set within 3 acres of grounds, there is plenty of opportunity to take in this tranquil setting. There are a further 8 acres - which are enclosed and situated across the river with a exclusive riverside walk - for the more energetic guests there is use of the tennis court.
Burghley House and Horse Trials, Tallington Lakes and ski slope - Grimsthorpe Castle is also close by as well as the town of Bourne. Peterborough is approximately 30 minutes’ drive.
Within 1 mile are two gastro pubs, a shop and post office as well as a local butcher.
Fishing in the river on a catch and return basis.
Nearby Baston, Lincolnshire, is a beautiful village lying on the edge of The Fens on the main A15 midway between Market Deeping in the South and Bourne in the North. The town of Peterborough lies ten miles to the south. A significant Roman feature of Baston is the Roman road leading across the fen towards Spalding. Part of the modern fen road follows it.
Burghley Horse Trials We are ideally situated for Burghley Horse Trials which are less than 15 minutes away by car, this prestigious event is not to be missed. The premier equestrian social event of the year takes place each September with over 600 trade stands, the event is almost as well known for its shopping as for its three day event. Set against the magnificent backdrop of Burghley House (Burghley House is open to the public all year round), the park will host some of the greatest international riders in a thrilling 4 star three day event.
Local places: Market Deeping, Deeping St James, Eye Green, Maxey, Peakirk, Glinton, Marholm, Thorney, North Side, Northborough, Langtoft, Crowland, Etton, West Deeping, Helpston, Deeping Gate, Newborough, Stamford.
Distances to nearby Cities: 26 minutes drive from Peterborough (13 miles) 1 hour drive from Lincoln (38 miles) 1 hour 16 minutes drive from Nottingham (47 miles)
Maximum occupancy of 6 people
