About this property
1 Bed in Llannefydd (oc-p32089)
Escape to a magical retreat in the heart of the Welsh hills with this lovingly handcrafted shepherd’s hut. Set within the peaceful grounds of a Grade II-listed farmhouse and surrounded by working farmland, rolling meadows, ancient woodland and a tranquil pond, this unique hideaway welcomes couples and solo travellers seeking solitude and adventure. With breathtaking views of Mynydd y Gaer and the freedom to roam private grounds, this is a rare chance to experience authentic rural life, while being just 7 miles from Denbigh or the Abergele Coast.
Follow the farm track past the pond and farmyard to arrive at your private parking spot. A winding footpath leads to this cosy retreat, where a few wooden steps welcome you into the rustic yet elegant interior. Thoughtful vintage touches, wood-panelled walls and family photos create a nostalgic atmosphere, while underfloor heating and a wood-burner-effect electric fire keep you snug and warm whatever the weather. A stylish blue kitchenette has all the essentials for preparing simple meals to be enjoyed at the table for two, while a curtained nook hides a snug double bed beside a feature, stained-glass window. There’s also a roomy shower room for your convenience. A generous yard stretches out the front of the property with a bistro set for dining alfresco and a firepit for starlit evenings. Guests are free to explore the farm’s meadows, orchard, walled garden and ancient woodland, observe sheep and cows, and may even encounter the farm cat, cockapoo and peacocks.
This shepherd’s hut is a true North Wales gem, offering seclusion and natural beauty with easy access to adventure. Surrounding the farm, the Clwydian Range offers endless opportunities for walking, cycling and wildlife spotting. Inland, the historic market town of Denbigh offers a wealth of listed buildings, cosy pubs and an ancient castle. On the coast, Abergele boasts a quiet sandy beach and a wealth of historic sites.
