Just minutes from the beach, this 17th-century fisherman's cottage is situated on the quiet side of Robin Hood’s Bay, close to pubs, tea rooms and restaurants. Enjoy BBQs in the shared garden in the summer, and cosy nights by the fire in the winter - this lovely getaway is ideal for couples, friends and families all through the year.
This quaint property definitely makes an impression. It’s set over three storeys, with beams and cottage-style stairs, and has steps up and down between rooms, too. The lounge/diner is on the ground floor, featuring a stripped-wood floor, beamed ceiling and open fire, and a TV/DVD to keep you entertained. Three steps take you up into the kitchen, equipped with everything for your culinary needs. On the first floor you’ll find two lovely bedrooms, a double and a single, plus a pretty shower room. Head up to the top floor and there’s a twin bedroom, with metal beds tucked under the eaves and a TV. From here you can enjoy sea views, and relish the sense of history in the form of beams made from old ship’s timbers. If you want to enjoy the fresh sea air, there’s a seating area to the front overlooking a communal garden which has a BBQ stand, while at the back of the house there’s a bench seat and planters.
For walkers and nature lovers, this is the perfect area to explore: the Bay is the end point of Wainwright’s coast-to-coast route, and is on the Cleveland Way national trail and at the edge of the North York Moors. As well as hiking you can cycle, swim, horse ride, bird watch, go rock pooling on the dog-friendly beach or simply sit back and admire the diversity and abundance of marine wildlife around.
