About this property
3 Bed in Kings Meaburn (oc-cm057)
Set in the tranquil surroundings of the Eden Valley, this beautiful detached property is an idyllic getaway for families, couples and friends exploring a stunning part of the Cumbria countryside. Offering stylish accommodation for up to six guests, the cottage has been tastefully updated, with fresh, relaxing decor and comfortable furnishings, while retaining its charm and character. Featuring exposed timber beams and a wood burner, this lovely hideaway stands on the banks of the River Lyvennet – where you’re welcome to fish – as it winds its way past the picturesque village of King’s Meaburn.
With underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, this beautiful traditional cottage features a sympathetically updated lounge with timber beams, plenty of seating, a Smart TV and a roaring wood burner, providing a fantastic space for getting together in the evenings. Also on the ground floor is the light, stylish open-plan kitchen/diner. With elegant beams, a polished wooden floor and arched patio doors overlooking the garden, the dining area is ideal for sharing celebratory family meals which you can prepare in the spacious, sleek and fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs, you will find a bathroom and three cheerful bedrooms: two twin rooms and a king-size room with an en-suite shower room. Outside, there’s a delightful patio with outdoor furniture and a summer BBQ, alongside a large garden with a metre-high drystone wall. The garden slopes down to the banks of the river, which makes a great spot for flyfishing.
With the Yorkshire Dales, the North Pennines and the Lake District all within 10 miles, the cottage makes a fantastic base for exploring some truly idyllic parts of the country. The bustling town of Penrith (12 miles) is home to the Rheged Centre and the ruins of a medieval castle, with Brougham Castle and Dalemain Mansion both within 15 miles.
