About this property

2 Bed in Hay-on-Wye (oc-h33385)

Step into family adventure at this safari-style treetop tent, where nature, relaxation and fun combine in the northern fringes of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. A walk across the River Wye brings you to Hay-on-Wye (less than 500 metres) – the famous “town of books”. Children will love exploring the town’s quirky shops and discovering hidden treasures among the shelves, while grown-ups can enjoy a coffee and cake in one of the many cafes. There are also plenty of family-friendly pubs and restaurants for a tasty meal after a day of discovery. Further afield, the Brecon Beacons National Park is your playground – and starts at your front door. Families can try canoeing or paddleboarding on the nearby waters, go horse riding through the rolling countryside, or set off together on one of the many cycling and hiking trails that wind through the national park.

To enter this off-grid riverside retreat, head to the balcony and find yourself amongst the trees and surrounded by nature – setting the tone for a memorable woodland stay. A unique open-plan living space greets you inside, combining a well-appointed kitchen with an airy dining space, lounge area, and the master bedroom. Here, wood panelling, canvas walls and plenty of natural light combine to offer a welcoming and bright atmosphere. Sink into the soft seating after days of outdoor adventure and fire up the wood burner to keep things toasty on chillier days. When stomachs rumble, find all you need in the compact but well-appointed kitchen space to cook up light bites and family feasts, which can be enjoyed at the boutique wooden table or alfresco-style on the balcony. When it’s time to call it a night, the four-poster king-size bed in the living space impresses – its posts uniquely crafted from branches. A second bedroom offers flexible sleeping with its single bed set above a double – perfect for little ones. Each morning, refresh in the rustic shower room, which completes the interior.

Outside and surrounded by greenery, the covered balcony is a true highlight of this unique property. Gather at the soft seating to enjoy peaceful morning coffees, fire up the BBQ/fire pit, or enjoy a one-of-a-kind soak in the outdoor bathtub beneath the treetops. Guests will also benefit from private parking for one car, as well as a handy luggage cart to make your arrival easier, setting the scene for a relaxed, hassle-free stay.
