Journey into Slaithwaite to potter around the cute shops and dine in one of the friendly cafes, pubs, or restaurants. After a bite to eat, take a stroll along the towpath of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal or the banks of the River Colne. Alternatively, take a day trip to the picturesque town of Holmfirth (8 miles), made famous as the filming location for the TV classic ‘Last of the Summer Wine’. As you’d expect, the surrounding area is awash with walking routes to explore. Nearby highlights include Merrydale Clough (1 mile) and the National Trust’s Marsden Moor (4.5 miles), and you’ll also be just 5 miles from the Peak District National Park.


The single-storey cottage is full of character, with beautiful original features sitting alongside contemporary decor and design. Enter the holiday retreat into the inviting lounge, where you’ll find an array of comfortable seating arranged around a cosy wood burner – perfect for warming your toes after a long, countryside ramble. Moving through to the kitchen, you’ll discover everything needed to whip up hearty meals. This room also enjoys magnificent rural vistas. When it’s time for bed, retire to the delightful king-size bedroom for a good night’s sleep. You’ll also have a fabulous walk-in wardrobe/dressing room for storing all your holiday attire. Rounding off this countryside bolthole is a spacious shower room.


Outside, you’ll have a choice of two enclosed courtyard areas, both with jaw-dropping views. Spend time out here, dining alfresco on balmy summer evenings, or after a long walk, revive weary limbs in your private hot tub. Private parking for two cars is available at the rear of the cottage.
