About this property

1 Bed in North Stainley (oc-ds1075)

Explore Wensleydale and Swaledale from this beautiful and secluded converted stone barn between the towns of Ripon and Masham. Sleeping two guests, and offering dog-friendly accommodation. This single-storey stylish barn has glorious views out across undulating countryside. Outside there is an attractive west facing terrace with dining furniture and sun loungers and BBQ, where you can unwind, dine alfresco and watch the sun set over the fields. In the autumn and winter, you can light the Danish wood burner and relax in its cosy glow after your exciting trips out.

On entering the barn there is a lobby with coat and shoe cupboard. With a hard floor it's perfect for mucky boots and dogs after a walk along the river Ure outside the barn. There is a shower room off the lobby and access to the living/dining room. Light the woodburner and relax on the designer Italian settees as you take in the beautiful views. Sit down to dine at the dining table and chat about your day. The chic kitchen has been beautifully designed and equipped to meet your every need, with ample space for you to store and prepare food. Enjoy the welcome pack of local artisan foods and fresh coffee, eat breakfast at the breakfast bar. As night falls head through to the sumptuous king- size bedroom, which has an en-suite bathroom. Sit outside on the terrace on warm days, looking out across your surroundings for wildlife, as the BBQ warms up. If you have a four-legged friend, relax in the knowledge that the terrace and large grassed area at the back of the barn is safe and enclosed.

Venture 4 miles into Ripon to enjoy it's historic charm, visit the splendid cathedral and witness the Wakeman setting the night watch which has happened every night for 1,137 years. Eat out at the fabulous pubs, gastro pubs and restaurants in the local villages and towns. Explore Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden just outside Ripon. Spend an afternoon at the magnificent Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park, 6 miles from the barn, or the fascinating 19th-century folly at The Druid’s Temple, 9 miles away, and the impressive ruins at Jervaulx Abbey, 10 miles, the incredible Middleham Castle or the imposing Castle Bolton, before visiting Aysgarth Falls and going on to discover Wensleydale cheese making at Hawes.
