We had a lovely time staying at the Bothy in October. The hosts could not have been more welcoming, thank you! The cottage is very comfortable, cosy, private and peaceful. Balm for the soul! In a lovely rural location, not far from Ripon and local attractions. We hope to come back in better times.

The Bothy was our choice because of its location away from people but an easy drive from amenities and attractions. On arrival we were greeted by Amanda Yeoman and made to feel very welcome. The property was very clean and comfortable. nothing was too much trouble for her and we were grateful for the welcome pack that was waiting for us. My only criticism and it is very minor is that for a person who loves to cook I found the kitchen equipment a little sparse, however, that it is just a personal view and is no criticism of the property.
We had a brilliant time their and both Amanda and her husband Charles were brilliant. The beds are very comfortable and we would book again should we ever be in the area

The Bothy is ideally located if you like peace and tranquility.
The Bothy is ideally located if you like peace and tranquility. There are lovely country walks from your door, the only traffic being the occasional farm tractors and horses! The friendly owners were very welcoming yet unobtrusive during our stay. Perfect for exploring the wider area with many attractions within easy distance. A cosy homely retreat which we would be happy to return to!

Cosy cottage with everything needed for a short stay. Lovely local walks and friendly farmers to help when lost! Very comfortable beds, however some sleep disturbance due to mice in the roof/wall spaces.

We were absolutely delighted with The Bothy.
We were absolutely delighted with The Bothy. Loved the tasteful decor, the barn conversion has been extremely well designed and has retained much character. The bed was supremely comfortable with gorgeous quality white bedding. We enjoyed cosy nights in by the log burner. The dining kitchen was spacious and well equipped.
You have to drive down a lot of narrow country lanes to find the cottage, there is no passing traffic (bliss) as the lane is a no through rd. the nearest pub, fish shop, tea room etc are in Kirkby Malzeard.
The owners, Charles and Amanda were a lovely, friendly welcoming couple.
If you are looking for a cottage in a very quiet, very peaceful, beautiful location where you can truly 'get away from it all' then The Bothy would be a good choice.

We had a lovely Easter weekend at The Bothy.
We had a lovely Easter weekend at The Bothy. If you want to get away from it all and relax in a picturesque setting I’d highly recommend it. We had a very warm welcome, and the little touches of milk and fresh eggs left were very thoughtful. The Bothy is a really nice barn conversion and although compact has everything you need, and is perfect for a couple. There are plenty of walks from the door but no real amenities close by so you have to drive, but that didn’t bother us. We couldn’t have asked for better weather too so we christened the BBQ three times! Overall a great stay and hopefully we’ll be back again at some point.

The cottage is a bit remote but its worth the drive. Really quiet but lots of wildlife on the doorstep. We saw a deer in the garden. The house is spotless and well equipped. Underfloor heating, electric heaters and a woodburner mean that the place is cosy and warm

I've marked local amenities as 8 because the cottage is not really near to a supermarket, having said that there are local shops in the nearby village.
