About this property
3 Bed in Upottery (oc-t28828)
This spectacular rural retreat is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to the market town of Honiton. The luxurious property sleeps six guests and makes a great holiday home for a family get-together or special holiday with friends, with areas for entertaining both indoors and outside. From the property, enjoy days out to Sidmouth, Lyme Regis and Seaton (all within 16 miles).
The countryside retreat has a home-away-from-home vibe, with comfortable furniture, cute accessories and artwork adorning the walls. Many of the rooms enjoy far-reaching rural views and boast characterful original features. The social hub of the house is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can relax after a day of exploring to watch TV, try out new recipes, and dine together at the table by the window. This room also has a warming wood burner for chilly nights. Adjacent to the lounge is a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and down a small flight of stairs is a super-king-size bedroom. This room has an indulgent, free-standing bath in the room, as well as a stylish en-suite shower room. The remaining bedroom is upstairs and, again, has an en-suite shower room. Outside, a 5-acre shared garden awaits, with a patio area and a BBQ for al fresco dining, vast lawns and a children’s play area. The owners of this property have taken steps to reduce their carbon footprint by fitting the property with Energy A rates appliances, low energy lightbulbs, and EV charger and a wastewater management system. They also provide bathroom and cleaning products that are suitable for the bio-digestive system on site.
Just 5 miles away is the bustling market town of Honiton. The town has a good range of independent restaurants and friendly pubs, as well as antique stores and art galleries. Honiton is a popular starting point for many rural walks, including the beauty spots of Hembury Hillfort and Blackbury Camp. For a day at the coast, journey to the elegant town of Sidmouth (15.5 miles), where you can fossil hunt on the beach and peruse its upmarket shops.
