This charming 17th century thatched cottage nestled in the idyllic village of Lockridge, Marlborough makes the ideal retreat for families, friends, or a romantic getaway. Lockridge is designated as being of ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and the centre of the village is a conservation area with a popular village pub in walking distance from the cottage. Enjoy wondering around the Lockridge Dene where the sarsen stones comprise the outer circle of Stone Henge (22 miles). Discover the historic market town of Marlborough (4 miles) renowned for its broad high street, independent shops, and vibrant weekly market. Take scenic walks along the Kennet & Avon Canal or visit the ancient Avebury Henge and Stone Circle (4 miles), a UNESCO World Heritage site.
As you step inside this wonderful cottage full of character, and historic charm you find yourself in the central living room with all its authentic charm of stone walls, exposed beams and a large inglenook complete with wood burner. Leading from this room is delightful, modernised kitchen with all the amenities you require yet still plenty of country cottage charm. A second sitting/dining room on the ground floor with library and piano, makes an ideal spot to relax with a coffee and a good book by day and a glass of wine and a singalong by night. Above this room is one of three cosy bedrooms fitted with a double bed and tranquil views out on to the garden. The remaining two bedrooms are located on the other side of the cottage. The master bedroom offers a super-king bed and plenty of storage for your personal items whilst the third bedroom a cosy single room. The bathroom with shower over bath is located on the ground floor completing the interior of this fabulous home.
Step outside into the large garden that surrounds the cottage. Perfect for leisurely afternoons, family picnics, or simply soaking up the sun, this outdoor space is your private sanctuary.
