Absolutely loved my stay at the Coach house. MC was very accommodating in every way and was always quick to respond if I needed anything. The location was great with a short 15 minute walk into Huddersfield town centre and the station. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in for my time in Huddersfield. 5* all round :)

About the host

I'm originally from France but have lived in this area ever since 1975, and in this house since 1994. I enjoy hosting the great variety of guests who visit, from so many countries and for so many different purposes.
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with Yorkshire when I first arrived here from France, and never tire of its amazing landscapes, architecture, and people. Huddersfield is the perfect size in the perfect place: Not so big as to be overwhelming, but big enough to have everything needed for everyday life right on the spot, with great transport links when more is required.
What makes this property unique
Our house is one of the Victorian 'Villas of Huddersfield'. The outbuilding at the back, once a working coach house, stable, and hayloft, was still structurally sound but had fallen into disrepair over the years. We had it renovated and converted into a one-bedroom cottage in 2011, preserving all the features that could be saved and reproducing those too damaged to rescue, in order to retain its character and soul. It is now a practical, pleasant, comfortable, yet unique place to live in. We love spending time there ourselves on occasion: A cosy, warm, short break in winter; or a mini-holiday in summer, with all the double doors thrown open on warm, sunny days.
