We spent an absolutely unforgettable week at this wonderful property as a family of seven, and when it came time to check out, none of us wanted to leave! The house is overflowing with authentic Italian charm, unique character, and beautifully preserved original features, all perfectly balanced with modern comforts to make a large group stay effortless. With five spacious, thoughtfully decorated bedrooms, everyone had their own private sanctuary. The modern air conditioning in the bedrooms was an absolute lifesaver during the summer heat! Having two sleek shower rooms made morning routines smooth, and the fully equipped family kitchen became the heart of our stay, complete with toys that kept the kids entertained. The exterior of this property is pure magic. The rooftop terrace offers sweeping, endless views over neighboring vineyards that take your breath away. We spent hours in the wrap-around garden, and the large steel-frame pool provided endless fun for the whole family. The entire grounds feel incredibly private, tranquil, and serene. Tucked away in peaceful countryside seclusion, it’s still just an easy, pleasant drive to local towns for wonderful dinners and visiting the regional "big benches." To top it off, our host, Annie, was exceptionally friendly, responsive, and full of great recommendations. We highly recommend this gem to any family looking to unwind and soak in the beauty of the Italian countryside. We would love to return!

Why they chose this property

Piedmonte is a truly beautiful part of Italy. Compared to Tuscany it is relatively quiet and undiscovered. You can visit some villages and be the only tourists there, yet you are within easy reach of Turin, Milan, Genoa, the Lakes, the Alps and the coast. Food and wine in the region are outstanding and the people are very friendly. The area is a UNESCO world heritage site and the views are outstanding with the snow topped Alps visible in the distance on clear days.

What makes this property unique

Casa Il Grappolo is set in a fantastic position, remote with no near neighbours yet within walking distance of a beautiful village that has a pharmacy, weekly food market, a bar and pizzeria and fantastic restaurant that also has an extensive vegan menu. Ricaldone also has 4 wineries which all offer tastings. The house is very much a home from home with a lovely lawned garden, above ground pool, table tennis table, record player with lots of vinyl and walls adorned with art.
