Tucked behind a cobbled mews in South Kensington, this restored three-bedroom townhouse sleeps six across three floors. Wake to skylit kitchen breakfasts, walk five minutes to the tube, the V&A, the Natural History Museum and Hyde Park. Period sash windows, three full bathrooms, a fireplace in the living room, and the whole house to yourselves. Quiet enough to sleep in. Central enough to walk everywhere.
The Space:
A genuine London mews house — 1,711 sq ft over three floors — on a quiet, cobbled street five minutes' walk from South Kensington station.
Ground floor. Open-plan living and dining around a green velvet sofa and a working fireplace. Skylit kitchen behind, with double oven, dishwasher and a long dining bench that seats six. Glass-and-iron table for breakfast.
First floor. Two double bedrooms (one king, one queen), each with its own bathroom. The queen has the original sash window looking onto the mews. The king's bathroom is tiled in marble with a deep soaking tub and a view across the rooftops through frosted glass.
Top floor. The master suite — a king bed under a sloped, skylit ceiling, with its own en-suite shower room. Quiet, bright, private.
Sleeps 6 comfortably. Three full bathrooms plus a guest cloakroom. Fast Wi-Fi throughout. Washer, dryer, full kitchen. Crib and high chair available on request.
Guest Access:
The whole house is yours — front door to skylight. Private entrance off the cobbled mews, with topiaries either side of the door (you'll know it when you see it). No shared corridors, no concierge desk, no doormen. We're a quick phone call away if you need anything; otherwise we leave you to it.
The Neighborhood:
South Kensington is the museum quarter and one of London's most walkable neighbourhoods. From the front door:
5 min to South Kensington tube (Piccadilly, District, Circle)
8 min to the Victoria & Albert Museum
10 min to the Natural History Museum
12 min to Hyde Park and the Serpentine
15 min to Harrods and Knightsbridge
20 min to Royal Albert Hall
45 min by tube to Heathrow
The mews itself is a quiet cobbled lane lined with original gas lamps — the kind of pocket of London that's easy to miss from the main road. Daily Waitrose at the end of the street. The Anglesea Arms (proper pub) two minutes away. Three or four good neighbourhood restaurants within five.
Getting Around:
South Kensington station is a 5-minute walk and connects you to the rest of central London on the Piccadilly, District and Circle lines. The Piccadilly line runs direct to Heathrow in about 45 minutes — no need for a transfer.
Black cabs and Ubers are quick to find on Cromwell Road. If you're driving in, residents-only parking applies on the mews itself, but Q-Park Kensington (10-minute walk) accepts non-residents and discounts overnight stays.
