The classic Nyhavn property built in half-timbering style has almost 400 years of history. If only the walls could talk you would hear stories of how sailors came ashore, got drunk, got tattoos and wooed local girls right here in this charming courtyard. On the second floor we recently restored this apartment with modern features but all the historic details kept in place. Get ready for an exclusive and authentic experience through time.
The Space:
A TOUR OF THE PLACE
Located in the heart of historic Nyhavn at number 43, this apartment blends classic Copenhagen charm with thoughtful contemporary design. Once inside the building, the apartment is on the high ground floor, where a bright and spacious living room welcomes you, setting a calm and inviting tone for your stay. A comfortable queen-sized sofa bed and a TV create the perfect spot to relax after a day exploring the city.
To the right, the open kitchen and dining area unfold. The well equipped kitchen is designed for both easy cooking and gathering, and the dining table comfortably seats eight — ideal for leisurely breakfasts, shared dinners, or planning your day in Copenhagen.
Continuing along the right, you’ll find the two full bathrooms in deep dark green creating a stylish and comfortable atmosphere.
The three bedrooms contains kingsize beds that can split into singles if preferred. One of these rooms offers peaceful views of the quiet courtyard, while the other is windowless — ideal for guests who prefer a darker, cozy sleeping environment.
The rooms are separated by blurred glass walls that provide privacy while allowing natural light to flow through the apartment. Custommade drawings on the glass, created by Troels Andersen Studio, add an artistic and contemporary touch, making these partitions a subtle but memorable design feature. Combined with the wooden pillars and a playful neon anchor sign, these details give the apartment a distinctive personality and a nod to modern Copenhagen style.
With its thoughtful layout, mix of classic and modern design, and cozy atmosphere, this apartment is a perfect base for families, friends, or couples looking to experience the charm and vibrancy of Nyhavn from one of its most iconic addresses.
The Neighborhood:
Nyhavn (New Harbour) is the most famous landmark of our city. With its picturesque wooden sailing ships along the canal filled with restaurants and hangout spots this is as charming as it gets. And with the penthouse situated in a historic courtyard behind it all you still get the feeling of living like a local. The new “kissing bridge” across the main canal connects the area to Christianshavn and Christiania in a short walk.
Getting Around:
The metro stops at Kongens Nytorv which is at the other end of Nyhavn, 5 minutes away. From there the airport is a 13 min. train ride.
