The Space:

Edgemere Retreat is a cottage consisting of an open-plan living space with a Smart TV, electric fire, breakfast bar seating four, and a kitchen with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge with icebox, coffee maker, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a cloakroom with basin and WC. The bedrooms consist of two king-size with Smart TVs en-suite shower rooms. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen, and towels are included in the rent. Outside, there is an enclosed rear garden with patio, gravelled area, picnic bench and off-road parking for two cars. Two well-behaved pets are welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Guests can find the closest shop and pub within 1.1 miles, and within 2 miles, a beach. Edgemere Retreat is an idyllic base to explore the Southern Lakes and Cumbrian coast. Note: Check-in from 4 pm, check-out by 10 am. Note: There is a Good Housekeeping Bond of 200GBP.



The Neighborhood:

The historic, South Lakeland village of Cartmel is renowned as the prettiest village in the Lake District. The Priory Church, one of the finest ecclesiastical buildings in the north of England, remains the heart of the community with its gatehouse forming the entrance to the village. The village features pretty streamside walks, quaint cobbled streets littered with antique shops, a charming gift shop, welcoming, traditional pubs serving real ale, the nationally acclaimed, Michelin Star awarded L'Enclume restaurant, and the Cartmel Village shop, which sells the famous sticky toffee pudding. Take advantage of excellent walking opportunities amidst beautiful, unspoilt countryside, visit Cartmel Racecourse, Campbell Legend Bluebird Exhibition, Lakeland Motor Museum and Holker Hall with its spectacular gardens, all of which are close by. The quiet seaside retreat of Grange-over-Sands, with its Edwardian buildings and mountain backdrop, is a mere 2 miles away, whilst Windermere, with its panoramic views over England's longest lake, is within a thirty minute drive.
