Lovely lodge but terrible weather with 2 dogs and a baby struggled with where to go. Could be lovely in the summer but pubs a drive away and lots have closed down

Superb
Great accommodation, lovely hosts and fine countryside, what more can you ask? Dogs thought it was great and settled in immediately. Farm dogs very friendly so all in all a great time was had by all. This was our second visit and it just keeps getting better!
The instructions to reach the property were easy enough to follow and our son loved driving past all the tractors and cows on arrival. The property is on a working farm so there is movement of tractors behind the property, but it didn’t bother us at all. We had expected the property to be more isolated than it was from the photos - its garden directly adjoins another let property - but we had lovely neighbours for the week so no real issues in practice. We spent many an evening in the garden soaking in the views of all the stretches of fields beyond the property.
The property has good sized rooms and everything felt adequately clean. There was a cream tea to greet us on arrival and some milk which was lovely. There are sufficient pans, glasses, washing up liquid etc and an initial supply of toilet paper, dishwasher tablets and even a dog food mat. Probably due to covid, to bear in mind that things like tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper aren’t available. Crockery and cutlery was only really sufficient for one meal at a time. With the request that all items are popped in the dishwasher for washing, it would have been helpful to have more. However, we managed fine.
We really enjoyed the property - all on one level, lovely views, pretty quiet and not lacking anything we needed. We made use of the barbecue, table and chairs in the garden. And the host keeps the garden immaculately too, even mowing the lawn whilst we were out. The host lives on site and is very responsive with communication. We needed a hose to wash down our dog after a beach day and one was promptly provided.
All in all, a wonderful stay which we would recommend to others.
