Sleeping up to six guests and welcoming up to two well-behaved dogs, it’s ideal for families, friends, and anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing island escape surrounded by sea, sky, and wide sandy beaches only 250 yards from the front door. Inside, the cottage has a bright and sociable open-plan living space where the kitchen, dining area, and lounge flow together. The well-equipped kitchen provides everything you need to prepare meals during your stay, while the dining area is perfect for enjoying relaxed breakfasts before a day of exploring or gathering together for evening meals. The comfortable lounge area offers a cosy place to unwind, whether you’re planning the next day’s adventure or simply relaxing after a walk along the beach.
Husabost House is thoughtfully arranged to suit a variety of guests. On the ground floor there is a twin bedroom with two single beds, making it convenient for guests who prefer to avoid stairs. Also downstairs is a modern wet room. Upstairs you’ll find two further bedrooms: a spacious king-size room and a comfortable double bedroom, along with a shower room. Outside, the cottage is surrounded by a large garden where guests can enjoy the fresh Atlantic air and peaceful island setting. Directly opposite the house lies Baleshare Beach, a beautiful stretch of sand that’s perfect for morning walks, wildlife spotting, or simply taking in the breathtaking coastal views.
Baleshare itself is a quiet and scenic island connected to North Uist by the Baleshare Causeway. The island is known for its unspoilt beaches, rich birdlife, and archaeological sites. Just across the causeway on North Uist, visitors can explore the nature reserve at Balranald RSPB Reserve, famous for corncrakes and coastal wildlife. Further afield, day trips by small ferry can take you to the historic standing stones at Callanish Stones on Isle of Lewis, or the dramatic mountain scenery of Harris.
