We love this new build cottage with all ground floor accommodation, and ramped access. Spacious living areas and wet room with sunny garden and hot tub and close to York.. 1 step to entrance.

Acorn Cottage is one of two thoughtfully designed holiday homes at Heatherdene, offering stylish, ground-floor accommodation with a range of accessible features. Newly built with comfort and practicality in mind, the cottage benefits from ramped access at both the front and rear, spacious rooms, wide sliding doors and a wet room-style bathroom, making it an excellent choice for guests seeking easy, step-free living. Welcoming up to two dogs, it’s also ideal for those travelling with their four-legged companions.

Inside, the cottage is bright, modern and well equipped for a relaxing stay. The contemporary kitchen and dining area features both a dining table and a breakfast bar for two, along with an electric hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. A large archway leads through to the comfortable living room where you’ll find a choice of seating, including a cosy armchair, an electric log burner and a Smart TV. French doors open onto the garden, where ramped access allows easy movement between indoors and outside. The cottage offers two attractive bedrooms, including a king-size bedroom with its own private WC, and a twin bedroom with a Smart TV. The house bathroom is designed in a practical wet room style and includes a Heated towel rail and raised toilet. Outside, a spacious enclosed garden provides the perfect place to relax, complete with outdoor seating and a hot tub for unwinding after a day of exploring.

Acorn Cottage enjoys a peaceful setting just a short drive from the village of Wilberfoss, where you’ll find a handy convenience store and a traditional pub for a relaxed meal or drink. Perfectly positioned between the historic City of York and the charming market town of Pocklington, Acorn Cottage provides an excellent base for discovering some of Yorkshire’s most loved attractions.

Just a short drive away, York offers a wealth of history, culture and entertainment. Wander along its ancient City walls, explore the magnificent York Minster or spend time browsing the independent shops and cafés tucked along the famous Shambles. York is also home to fascinating museums, riverside walks and the popular York Racecourse, where race days provide an exciting day out.

In the opposite direction lies Pocklington, often described as the gateway to the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds. This friendly market town has a pretty central square, independent shops and welcoming cafés. Nature lovers and walkers will enjoy exploring the scenic trails of the Yorkshire Wolds Way, while nearby Burnby Hall Gardens is well worth a visit for its famous water lily ponds and peaceful grounds. For a round of golf or family activities, Allerthorpe Golf & Country Park is also within easy reach.
