We were forced to cut our stay short due to multiple unresolved issues that created safety hazards and significant discomfort. Despite reaching out to the hosts multiple times, we were led us to escalate the issue to VRBO.Key issues:1. **Safety Hazards**: * **Fire Hazard**: The barbecue grill was greasy and uncleaned, posing a serious risk. They told us a to Relight it * **Termites**: Termite infestation in the flooring, which was not addressed. * **Power Glitches**: Multiple hours of no electricity.2. **Discomfort & Maintenance Issues**: * **Broken Furniture**: Damaged items (furniture, dryer) that should have been removed. * **Lack of Storage**: Disorganized closets and inadequate space. * **Privacy Concerns**: No bathroom curtains, forcing us to improvise with paper bags. * **Poor Maintenance**: Overall lack of attention to cleanliness and comfort.We hope VRBO can intervene to resolve this, as we would not recommend this property in its current condition Rating: 1/5

We strongly disagree with this review, as it does not reflect the actual condition of the property or the experience we provided. The guests appeared to enjoy their stay during the first few days. After the weekend, they began raising various complaints and requested a refund. When their request was not granted, they left this review. To clarify: 1. The BBQ is clean and well-maintained, and is regularly used by guests without any complaints. 2. There is minor wear on the wood flooring, which is normal. This is the first time any guest has raised this concern. The claim of termites is not supported by any professional inspection. 3. The chair referenced is not in use. Despite this, it was photographed and presented as an issue. 4. We are unclear about the bathroom concern, as there have always been window blinds in place. 5. When the dryer issue was reported, we responded promptly and replaced it with a new unit the very next day. 6. The home offers ample storage space, including closets and drawers in every bedroom. While some drawers contain extra clean bedding for guest convenience, there is still plenty of empty storage available. 7. The power outage lasted only a couple of hours, affected the entire neighborhood, and was beyond our control. This is not a recurring issue. We take pride in maintaining our property and responding promptly to guest needs. Based on the timing, these concerns were raised after they stayed the weekend and then requested a refund, which was declined. Unfortunately, this review does not accurately represent the condition of the home or the level of service we provided.

Beautiful property and amazing hosts

We had a great stay at Liya and John’s place. The property is perched on a hilltop with amazing views, the house is cozy, comfortable, and clean, and the backyard is gorgeous with a well maintained pool. Communication with Liya was extremely prompt and courteous. Highly recommended and would definitely visit again!

We really enjoyed our visit to Monterey Park - Liya (sp?) responded quickly to our questions about the house both during the planning and booking process, as well as while we were there. The house was lovely - clean, pretty and exactly as described. We were glad to be able to have our family gather in such a nice place for our Thanksgiving Dinner!

Wonderful location

We had a wonderful time staying here. It is a perfect location close to family in Pasadena as well as Dodger Stadium, which we visited three times over the weekend. The hosts were prompt when contacted about a couple of issues and corrected them right away, which was much appreciated! The outside by the pool was perfect for gatherings and to enjoy the outside. We would definitely stay here again when in the area!
