Ginger & Gold is a family-run business managing properties across Norfolk. We're around and easy to reach if you need us, but the property is set up for full self-check-in.

Pre-arrival, you'll get clear instructions by email with your keybox code, parking details, and a few local tips.
We send one message asking if all ok after check in to make sure you have landed smoothly and then we are there as needed.

Victoria Street sits in one of the most central pockets of Norwich and somehow stays quieter than you'd expect. Step out the front door and you're a minute from Quasar laser tag (the kids will thank you), four minutes from Chantry Place for proper shopping, and six minutes from Norwich Castle.
Chapel Field Gardens is six minutes away, hosting summer fairs and fates that are worth timing a visit around if the season's right. The Lanes, the Royal Arcade, and Norwich's network of independent cafés, restaurants, and pubs are all within easy walking distance, so you can leave the car on the drive and explore on foot.

For everyday essentials, there's a large Sainsbury's at the end of the road, four minutes' walk or a one-minute drive. Hardly inconvenient.
Norwich punches well above its weight as a city break. Cathedral, castle, medieval lanes, independent food scene, and a market in the centre that's been running for centuries. Check the Ginger & Gold blog for our pick of where to eat, drink, and wander.

You'll have full private use of the whole property throughout your stay. Self check-in via a keybox at the front of the house, with the code sent by email the day before arrival.
The drive takes two cars off-street, accessed directly from Victoria Street. No permits, no parking app, no time-limit anxiety. Park up and forget about the car for the duration if you'd like.
Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am. Earlier or later requests usually possible if the calendar allows, just ask.

There aren't many three-bedroom period homes in central Norwich with off-street parking for two cars. 3 bed home Victoria Street is one of them, and it's the reason most guests book.

The handsome Victorian semi sits a short walk from the castle, Chantry Place, and just about everywhere worth being in the city. The drive takes two cars, which alone is worth its weight in gold if you've ever tried to find a central Norwich space on a Saturday afternoon.

Inside, the house earns its keep. High ceilings, decorative cornicing, and original fireplaces give it proper period character without feeling fussy. The living room has a 50-inch smart TV where you can log into your own Netflix, Disney+, or Prime, and the dining table seats six for the kind of long, lingering meals that holidays are made for.

The kitchen is well-proportioned and properly equipped for a full house, with a pod coffee machine for slower mornings. Off the living space is a small snug, around two square metres, kitted out with bean bags, a TV with DVD player, games, and books. It is genuinely tiny, but that's the charm. It's the kind of nook the kids slope off to so the adults can finish their wine in peace.

The downstairs WC is a small but a great addition to save having to trudge upstairs each time.

Three bedrooms upstairs. The front room is the largest, with a super king bed that zips and splits into two singles, ideal for couples, friends, or two children sharing. The rear main bedroom has a king-size bed and useful storage. The third is a single bed with an additional pull-out single size floor mattress, with a desk and stool, which doubles as a quiet workspace if anyone needs to dip into emails. The family shower room has a proper rainfall shower with strong water pressure and serves all three rooms.

Outside, the enclosed courtyard faces south-east and catches the sun from morning through the middle of the day. There's a six-seater table for breakfasts in the warmer months, and despite being in the middle of the city, the space feels surprisingly private. A proper glass-of-wine spot.

Sleeps five in total. Travel cot and a high chair available (linen supplied for a small charge)

Location-wise, you're spoiled. Norwich Castle is six minutes on foot. Chantry Place is four. Chapel Field Gardens, host to summer fairs and fates, is six the other way. Quasar laser tag is one minute from the front door, which has earned more than a few parents serious credit with the under-twelves. The big Sainsbury's at the end of the road is a four-minute walk or a one-minute drive, so the holiday shop is the easiest one you'll ever do.

Beyond the city, you're twenty minutes from the Norfolk Broads and thirty to forty minutes from the north Norfolk coast. Beach in the morning, fish and chips on the way home.

Fast fibre WiFi runs at 74 Mbps, so films stream cleanly and anyone working remotely won't be tearing their hair out.

There are stairs to the first floor where all three bedrooms and the shower room sit. They're gentler than many central Norwich Victorian terraces, but a stair gate can't be fitted due to the decorative spurs on the bannister.

39 Victoria Street does the boring stuff brilliantly (parking, downstairs WC, well-stocked kitchen) and the lovely stuff too (period character, sunny courtyard, the snug). For long weekends, half-term, or a few days mixing city and coast, it works for the trip.

Off-street parking for two cars on the drive, genuinely rare for a central Norwich property of this size. No permits, no app, no street-parking faff.

Norwich Castle: 6-minute walk

For days out, the Norfolk Broads are around 20 minutes by car and the north Norfolk coast 30 to 40 minutes depending on which beach you fancy. Wells, Holkham, and Cromer are all comfortably doable in a day.
