Charleston Lake Front Cottage with boat dock. 4 Bedroom. Pet Friendly!

This 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, lake front cottage is perfect for families up to a maximum of 8 adults and 2 children. Enjoy the water view with access from our deck to a newer dock for boating, fishing, and swimming. You can bring your fishing boat, and launch it at Outlet which is 4 miles away. Enjoy a day on the water or at nearby Charleston Lake Provincial Park with a complimentary park pass. Hiking trails, kayak/canoe rentals, a sandy beach for children, boat launch area, access to a playground, and numerous outdoor programs can be found at the Provincial Park. A full deck facing the water provides a peaceful retreat for relaxing and meals. A canoe and kayak are available for your use along with water toys, and life jackets. Free Wifi is included. We have a multitude of board games which are available for use. Attractions in the area included Thousand Island boat tours in Ivy Lea, the Thousand Island waterfront city of Gananoque which has a summer theater and many restaurants, shops, a casino, and the Rideau Canal with it's many locks such as at Jones Falls. Kingston is about 45 miles away with it's famous Fort Henry and just under 2 hr drive is Ottawa.
No smoking is permitted.

Another fantastic week at Burris Camp

Our second stay at this cottage was just as good as the first. We love everything about this place. The owners take very good care of it, and it is well equipped with everything you could need for a cottage week. Highly recommended!

Cozy cottage

We had a great time at this cottage. The place was well taken care of and full of supplies. The fishing was excellent. The only down side to this property it the tight driveway. Its very hard to maneuver a boat arount the stone roads leading to the cottage and there is no place to park your boat.

Relaxing vacation spot!

I rented this property for a week-long vacation with my children and grandchildren. It was absolutely perfect! The swimming and fishing from the deck was amazing and the house had everything we needed. The floor plan is perfect for a group, with each of two bedrooms sharing a bathroom. Cozy but not crowded!

Awesome Place to stay

This cottage on the lake was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the swimming and kayaking in the lake and even on a couple of rainy days, we enjoyed the coziness of the cottage. We were able to purchase groceries and gas close by which was a plus. The instructions and checklist provided for our stay and checkout was very helpful and the owners were quick to respond to questions I had texted to them. We had a wonderful stay and I would recommend it to others for cost and its beauty.

Fantastic summer holiday!

We loved our time at this cottage. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is the most well equipped kitchen I've ever seen! The owners are responsive to any questions. The Charleston Lake park pass is great - we used to to do activities with our kids. We loved our time on Charleston Lake!

Before we even had left the kids were begging to come back - great size - worked really well for six adults and three children. The cottage has everything - deck big enough we played spike ball on it and the swimming off the dock was fantastic - water lovely and clear.

We have been coming to this cottage for multiple years. Love the cottage, swimming, fishing and relaxation immensely. The cottage is completely equipped with all your needs. No TV is a super plus to truly enjoy your family and peacefulness.

Wonderful

The cottage was excellent accomodation for our extended family vacation, and plenty big for rainy days. Very private and a beautiful setting. We made almost daily use of the park pass provided for enjoying a beach, fantastic hiking and kayaking. Much appreciated as boat traffic in front of cottage made swimming unappealing. You provided everything guests could possibly want!

We had a lovely stay on beautiful Charleston Lake! Swimming, kayaking, boating, relaxing on the deck and dock. All the beds were very comfortable, with nice bedding. Plenty of towels available. Nice comfy furniture in the living room. Only issue we had was the wifi dropped very frequently. We weren't trying to watch anything, so not the end of the world, but it would be difficult to work from here. Lots of stairs if that's an issue for anyone. Very responsive owners who have a wonderful spot on the lake!

Perfect 2 weeks stay

We stayed in the house for 2 weeks with 5 adults and a toddler and the place was perfect. Plenty of space, great location on the lake and close to the park, and well kitted with ample kook/kitchenware to easily host 5 additional people for dinner. The wifi worked really well connecting multiple devices and even managed to perform some ad-hoc work.

Our family vacation in paradise

Great property with everything and more to offer. Never seen a cottage so well equipped. Enjoyed it's hominess and the interesting pictures. Our family enjoyed the many games, books, the deck and water. Mattresses so comfortable too. The only downfall was the stairs, front and back of the cottage. That being said, no one tripped and fell. Altogether, a remarkable property for an awesome family vacation.

Relaxing vacation

We had such a relaxing vacation! The cottage was comfortable and we enjoyed reading and puzzles in the comfy living room, family meals indoors and out, and lots of time on the dock and in/on the water. The cottage is extremely well equipped, especially the kitchen. Beds were very comfortable. Fans and a beautifully treed lot kept us cool on the few hot nights. The lake water is gorgeous for swimming and we saw lots of wildlife and caught plenty of fish. Hosts are so helpful, kind and communicative. Thank you Pamela and Rose!

Charleston Lake Vacation

Beautiful, well equipped with everything needed for your stay. The perfect getaway with great swimming from the dock, fishing on the lake or just relaxing on the shady deck. Will definitely return as long as we’re accepted. Accommodated a family of 6 and two well trained pets with no issues whatsoever. The only note I would post is the amount of steps to the cottage unloading and loading for elderly or disabled

Peaceful family getaway

My family of six had a wonderful stay at the property. The configuration of rooms and beds was ideal for the group (everyone got their own bed/room!) and the accommodation was simple but appropriate for the location. For a getaway with access to all the water entertainment we could ask for it was ideal. The dock and the canoe were particular hits! Thanks for a wonderful break!

Beautiful vacation spot

The cottage was fully equipped, clean and private if you want to get away from it all. I would highly recommend the cottage, lake and location. WiFi worked better than mine at home which allowed my son to connect and take care,of a very important work project. The only thing I would mention ( which is not a negative but a heads up ) is unloading and loading there is a grade of steps or path to carry down and back up from the cottage. It also sits a bit higher than the lake with a few steps to access the lake. Again, not a,negative just advise for,the elderly or physically handicapped. I would give this rental a 5 out of 5 rating. Fishing was excellent as well as swimming from the dock. Lastly, please don’t take my return week in 2019. Lol

Our family and extended family has been coming to Charleston Lake yearly. Our parents first bought this over 25 years ago and have passed this on to us to continue to enjoy with our families. We are 4 sisters from Washington State, Nevada, North Carolina, and Massachusetts. We continue to vacation at the cottage every summer and fall as it holds a special place in our hearts. We enjoy making yearly upgrades to make it a cozy and enjoyable place for us, our children and their families, and renters to vacation at.

Why they chose this property

There are no cottages visible from our deck, you are truly in the woods yet on the water. We love the crystal clear water perfect for swimming, bass fishing, and listening to loons. We love the ability to kayak, canoe or take motorboat/pontoon to many of the lake's islands and even to a hiking trail accessible by boat to Blue Mountain. Having Charleston Provincial Park and the nearby Thousand Islands is a plus for hiking, and shopping. The area is quiet at night as this cottage and those around us are not for partygoers.
