Many of the country’s heritage steam trains still pass over the impressive Ribblehead Viaduct and through nearby Appleby Station, adding a touch of nostalgia to any visit. With the Dales High Way (3.5 miles), the cottage is perfectly placed for walkers and hikers along with plenty of cycle routes. Golfers are well catered for with Appleby golf course less than a mile from the property. The Pennine Way (6 miles), the rolling Eden Valley and countless scenic trails are all within 10 miles, offering endless opportunities to explore the surrounding countryside. Ullswater (19 miles) and the magnificent Lake District are just a short drive to the west, while the Yorkshire Dales , Northumberland and even the Scottish Borders are all within easy reach.
