This spacious four-bedroom former dairy sleeps up to eight guests and is set on the banks of the River Dyfi, on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park (Eryri). Surrounded by rolling countryside and far-reaching valley views, it offers a wonderful rural escape for families and friends, as well as their dog, who enjoy walking, cycling and exploring the great outdoors. The setting is peaceful and scenic, with swallows returning each year and often seen gliding across the skies in the warmer months, adding to the charm and character of this countryside retreat.
The location is ideally located for North and Mid Wales perfect for discovering both mountains and coast, with the historic market town of Machynlleth just 13 miles away, offering independent shops, eateries, and cultural highlights including the Museum of Modern Art and Owain Glyndŵr's Parliament House. Dolgellau is 10 miles away and is known as the starting point for those looking to climb Cader Idris, while the picturesque Mawddach Trail provides a more leisurely option, following a disused railway line along the estuary to Barmouth. The property also sits within the wider Mach Loop area, known for occasional military training flights passing through the valley, which many visitors find an interesting sight. For those drawn to the coast, the beaches at Fairbourne and Barmouth, along with the sand dunes at Ynyslas, are all within easy reach, offering wide open spaces and beautiful sea views. Nature lovers can also visit the Dyfi Wildlife Centre to spot ospreys and other local wildlife.
Approach the property and step inside to find a welcoming and thoughtfully laid-out home. On the ground floor, there is a comfortable master bedroom with a king-size bed and an elegant en-suite shower room. Further along the hallway is a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing meals after a day exploring, while at the rear of the house, the spacious living and dining area makes the most of the stunning views across the Dyfi Valley, creating a relaxing space to gather together.
Upstairs, there are three further bedrooms and a family bathroom. The front-facing double bedroom benefits from its own en-suite shower room, while the twin room at the rear enjoys beautiful views across the valley. A third bedroom is ideal for children, with bunk beds, an additional single bed, and a TV with games console to keep younger guests entertained on quieter days.
Outside, the property continues to impress with a large patio area to the rear, complete with seating for enjoying the surrounding scenery from morning through to evening. To the side, a covered BBQ hut and generous picnic table provide the perfect spot for al fresco dining. With outdoor lighting throughout, the garden can be enjoyed long into the evening.
Mark and Catherine, your friendly hosts, live nearby and are on hand to share their local knowledge, ensuring you make the most of your stay. The Dairy forms part of Tyn Rhos Barn but enjoys its own private access and space, giving guests privacy throughout their visit. With the added benefit of a 7.2kW EV charger powered by on-site solar panels, this is a well-equipped and welcoming base for exploring this beautiful part of Wales.
