Located at the foot of dramatic Skiddaw Mountain, you are surrounded by opportunities for outdoor adventures. Dodd Wood is only 2 miles away, and perfect for spotting osprey and red squirrels on your walk in the woods. Access Bassenthwaite at Scarness Bay, less than 2 miles away, for some fun canoeing or paddleboarding. Keen walkers can head off to scale the challenging fells of Skiddaw, less than 5 miles away, and Blencathra, within 15 miles. For great family days out, The Wildlife Park is just 4 miles away, and Keswick, just 6 miles away, offers a climbing wall and the Pencil and Puzzling Place museum.

This is a delightful two-storey cottage, full of original features showcasing original wooden ceiling beams, traditional cottage‑style windows, rustic charm and contemporary creature comforts, ensuring a warm welcome and a memorable stay. Enter through the utility room/porch area, which is perfect for storing muddy boots and jackets. Downstairs, you’ll discover a handy shower room and a gorgeous open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with striking exposed wooden ceiling beams. This is the heart of the home, a welcoming space where you can enjoy spending relaxed, quality time together. Cook up a storm in the spacious kitchen, which has all the necessary appliances and then enjoy unhurried meals and good conversation at the adjacent wooden dining table. After a day exploring the surrounding lakes and fells, head to the lounge area where you can sink into the comfortable sofas and unwind. On cooler evenings, pop a log on the wood burner, settle in and pick your favourite family film to watch on the Smart TV. Next door, you’ll find a snug, also with a TV, so everyone can find their own space. Stone steps lead you up to the marvellous bedrooms – two king-size with countryside views and two twin rooms – meaning there is plenty of choice for you and your guests. A bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC completes the interior features of this splendid cottage.

Wander outside to enjoy your naturally split area of over 1/2 an acre of the beautiful garden shared with the neighbouring cottage . The children can play on the lawn area, while the adults can relax on the private outdoor furniture with a drink and admire the breath taking views of the fells. Private parking is available for up to four cars.
