The thriving market town of Newark lies to the west along the banks of the River Trent (6 miles), and offers a range of great places to eat and drink, as well as attractions including the National Civil War Centre, Newark Castle and Gardens, Newark Air Museum and the Palace Theatre. Heading north, the historic city of Lincoln (22 miles) is known for its stunning cathedral and medieval castle which houses a copy of Magna Carta.
