Set in the chocolate-box village of Winfrith Newburgh within the Purbeck peninsula, this charming property is an excellent vantage point for exploring the rolling countryside, rugged coastline and rich geographical history of Dorset. From the chalk ridge of the Purbeck hills to the intriguing sight of Old Harry Rocks, there are plenty of walks guaranteed to satisfy even the most adventurous of hikers. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, both 4 miles away, is a worthy day trip for the entire family, not forgetting a quick pit-stop for some local fare.
Enter to discover a cosy lounge that is packed with personality and nostalgic charm, featuring comfortable seating, a roaring wood burner and a choice of books to keep you amused on a wet afternoon. Stepping through the doorway, you’ll discover the open-plan kitchen, dining room, and garden room. To one end is the dining room complete with a grand table, adjoining WC and winding stairs leading to the first floor. Tucked in the middle is the well-equipped kitchen, an irresistible space for budding cooks to show off their skills, laying out an array of nibbles on the worktop to keep hungry stomachs at bay. At the opposite end is the light-filled garden room, a quiet sanctuary with a piano and French doors leading out to the pretty garden. Weary from your day’s adventures, climb the steep stairs from the dining room to find the four bedrooms. The bathroom is also on this floor, consisting of a shower over the bath and WC.
The immaculate garden has a patio for leisurely afternoon BBQs and pre-dinner drinks, with steps leading up to a sloping lawn surrounded by flowering shrubs. Another patio sits at the top of the garden in a perfect spot for catching the sun throughout the day.
