We loved everything single thing about this place. From check-in to all the amenities, it was fantastic. Not to mention, the location…wow. Campfires, stargazing, and relaxing; it was perfect. Keegan was a wonderful host. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
This home is phenomenal. The host is responsive and the amenities were plentiful! Thank you for opening your gorgeous home to us! Highly recommend this home to anyone!
This is I believe our 6th year staying here. We plan on returning again and again. The property and home are beautiful. The place is fully stocked, and the owner is very responsive and helpful.
You will not be disappointed here!
Awesome cabin on the river! All the amenities you need with access to the river. Super close to Hinchman Canoe rental and on the 4.5 hour float you pass by the house about halfway. Would recommend to anyone looking for a weekend away!
Gorgeous house, gorgeous property! Everything was top notch. This is a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy the beauty of Michigan! We will definitely be back!
Yet another stay for our group at The River House. Everything is clean and wonderfully kept. The house is huge and the beds are comfortable. They have everything you need here for a wonderful time away.
We couldn't recommend it higher!
House was very clean. Right on the river and close to town and other activities. This house was very well stocked with two or three of everything you might possibly need. Would definitely go back.
This property is better than advertised. The house is huge and nice, the property is secluded and scenic, and the river is as advertised. Clean, stocked, and generous with wood/supplies makes the stay that much easier. We will be returning again, and again!
This is our second stay at this location. We knew what to expect the second time and were still amazed at the quiet beauty this place offers. Spacious enough wher four different adult groups had privacy but cozi enough to create more lasting memories. Owner is very attentive and communicates well.
Eight friends stayed here for the the third year in a row. Keegan's place is big and beautiful, with plenty of space for everyone. Nice secluded location on the Ausable River. Keegan is an awesome host, who supplies everything needed to have fun and relaxing time. Thank you again and will be talking to you next year.
This rental does not disappoint. It has everything so you reallly just need to bring your food and drinks. I love that the house has camp chairs, firewood and fully stocked kitchen (pots, pans, utensils). Thank you for sharing this great rental.
We had a great time enjoying the area. We kayaked, and hiked nearby trails. We saw a mink, some salamanders, an owl and a bald eagle. While sitting around the fire enjoying s’mores, we heard coyotes calling to one another very close by. A luxurious and extremely peaceful place to relax with my adult children.
Stayed with several relatives for a long fly fishing weekend.
The house is located right on the main Au Sable river and the river is fishable by wading both directions from the entry point at the house, although the current was pretty strong on this segment of the river. There is also a public access point at the Mio Dam just up the road and travel to other access locations we fished (like the North and South Branches) is less than a 30 minute drive.
The house is spacious, well maintained, and quite comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking utensils and there are ample towels and bedding.
There are two outdoor firepits, kayaks, tubes, life jackets, etc. for those wanting to float the river.
Keegan was a highly responsive and attentive host, and offered a bunch of very helpful information about fishing opportunities at and around the house.
We would gladly stay here again on a subsequent fishing trip.
This is our fourth trip to the River House. I hope we can make it fourty more. The house is incredible. It's got everything there you can think of. Rafts, kayaks, full kitchen, a ton of grills, firepits, wood...I hardly have to pack. The scenery is gorgeous, and it's only a few minutes from town. The owner is hands down one of the best owners I have rented from with regards to friendliness and communication.
Thanks for everything!
I could not think of single negative thing about this place to say or improve on. Everything is top notch. The beds are wonderful and the bedrooms are huge. The house is gorgeous. Property is great for games, fires, and best of all, privacy for days.
Plenty of great views to be had, yet still away enough from the river for privacy. Close to town for quick runs. And I don't think anything needs to be said about the absolutely beauty of the AuSable, right out the back door.
The host could not be nicer and more responsive - an added bonus!
We were a party of 8 seniors, each one anywhere from 65-76 years of earthly experience. We gathered to have our annual sibling reunion. We found the property to be very nice and clean and well stocked. The location was very private and rustic and yet convenient for getting supplies/shopping. We enjoyed a couple of evening fires at one of the fire pits. Also sitting on the wonderful deck watching the various birds, including an occasional eagle during the day or stargazing at night, or playing a yard game (Molkky) in the front yard. The house was very spacious with plenty of private areas for reading or time alone. On the negative side, we did find it surprising/slightly disappointing that some of the bedrooms had no closets or much in the line of provisions for hang -up clothing. One of the upstairs bedrooms had no curtains and on sunny, warm days that room became uncomfortably hot. Also, some of the bathrooms did not have any hooks for bath robes/clothing. At the end of the day, overall, we very much enjoyed our stay, and if we were to be in this area again, we would not hesitate to stay here!
This property is amazing and perfect getaway for families. The owner is super attentive to your needs and accommodating. House is fully stocked with everything you could ever need. Will definitely be staying again!
