Exclusive location in an oasis of tranquillity in Hoorn (near Amsterdam).

Our romantic chapel is located in a completely renovated Neo-gothic chapel, dating back from the 19th century. Tenants have the exclusive use of it. The amazing, completely furnished and very bright living room has a view on a modern, architect-drawn garden. Besides this, you will also enjoy the use of a completely equipped Old-Dutch kitchen. On the first floor you will find 2 guest rooms, hosting 2 people each. The common bathroom boasts a whirlpool, separate shower cabins and a washbasin. There is also a washing machine with tumble dryer at disposal. A garden breakfast is always a joy in case of nice weather! We would me most pleased to provide you with a romantic diner in the chapel. In general, high quality and modest luxury set the tone in our tranquil domain.
Being a guest in here is a pure delight: you can enjoy all of the above a mere 5 minutes walk away from the harbour with its ships, little bars and restaurants.
Bookings start from 3 nights at least.
Included in rent is: the exclusive use of the chapel.

Bedroom 1
The chapel is for exclusive use (booking start from at least 3 nights). Booking both bedrooms the total price is of € 265,- per night. Renting just one bedroom the price is of € 205,- per night. The Bathroom (inclusive whirlpool) is shared by both bedrooms.
The bathroom provides a whirlpool, bathtub, shower, washbasin and toilet.
This is a supreme residence for romantics, peace seekers and businessmen.
Smoking is not allowed in the chapel.
Facilities: dining room, living room with television and Wi-Fi and a kitchen provided with all equipment needed.

Great Place in Super Location

My kids and I had a wonderful stay at the chapel. It was perfectly located between harbor and central square. Shopping and train station are pretty close too. Sofia was very helpful including giving us recommendations, bikes to borrow, and even a jacket to my daughter! Our stay was great and the town is beautiful!

Great, central location

We had a great stay at the Chapel. its is centrally located in Hoorn with easy access to the square and the harbor. even though its in town it is very quiet. it is equipped with all the basic necessities for cooking. Superb location just minutes from great restaurants, beautiful harbour and only 30 minutes from Amsterdam on the train. Why would anyone not want to stay in Hoorn? Our hosts were always there if you wanted them to assist with anything, but never intrusive. Thank you Sophia for a wonderful week and an escape from city life, whilst within a major town.

A Truly Special Place

Our stay at this historic chapel in Hoorn was truly special. The property is beautifully furnished, combining the charm of its historic roots with modern comforts. The location is perfect, a short walking distance to the center of Hoorn, for easy access to local attractions, shops, restaurants, and the harbour. The kitchen is well-outfitted and the outdoor courtyard is a great space to relax and enjoy the beautiful garden.The beds were comfortable, ensuring a good night's rest after days spent exploring. Lovely escape to Hoorn

We had a lovely, relaxing vacation in the chapel. A concern for future travelers, the staircase was very steep and narrow; if you are mobility challenged this would not be a recommended place to stay. We took the train from Amsterdam and found the walk from the train station to the home to be fairly easy even though it was 3/4 of a mile. The kitchen was well stocked and we easily found a grocery store close by to cook several meals. We loved walking around the city of Hoorn stopping at cafes. We found the very best apple tart and coffee at Het Koffielokaal which was about 3 blocks from the house. Overall, we would definitely stay in this home again and would recommend it.

I would like to take the time to talk about the amazing experience at our vacation rental. The owner Sophia met us when we arrived and explained everything about the house we needed. It was clean and cozy, and we enjoyed our stay. Sophia also shared her courtyard with us, and explained the historic of her home, and also answered any question about the city Hoorn. The house for exceeded our expections and we cannot say enough about Sophia who was generous with her time letting us know all the best spots in the city. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche in einem außergewöhnlichen Ferienhaus, einer umgebauten Kapelle. Die Lage in einem großen Hof/Garten, nahe dem Wasser und dem Städtchen Hoorn ist wunderbar. Wir waren zu dritt da und haben allesamt selten so gut geschlafen, zumal nicht im eigenen Bett. Es war ruhig, die Atmosphäre im Haus war einfach angenehm und erholsam. Alles, was man braucht, ist da, von einer gut ausgestatteten Küche inkl. Geschirrspüler bis hin zu Waschmaschine und sogar Trockner. Die Badewanne samt Whirlpool sah sehr einladend aus… Die Einrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll und hochwertig. Sophia und ihr Mann sind sehr herzliche Gastgeber, an die wir uns gerne erinnern!

Das Haus/Objekt ist ein außergewöhnliches und wunderschönes Gebäude für alle Menschen, die historische Häuser wertschätzen. Die Eigentümer haben daraus eine ganz besondere Immobilie gemacht, mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Die Gastgeber selbst sind ganz wunderbare und herzliche Menschen, enorm hilfsbereit und proaktiv. Wir waren dort für eine Woche mit unserer Tochter, die im Rollstuhl sitzt. Ohne, dass wir darum gebeten haben, wurde in einem Zimmer im Erdgeschoss ein extra Bett aufgebaut und eine Rampe am Eingang installiert. Das Gebäude ist nicht barrierefrei, aber wenn man etwas improvisieren kann, war der Aufenthalt möglich. Die Lage ist für einen Besuch von Hoorn und Umgebung ideal. Es war sauber, wunderschön, und es fehlte an nichts. Wir können die Lokation sowie die Gastgeber sehr empfehlen. Der Aufenthalt war sensationellDie Gastgeber waren sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Sie haben uns sehr viele gute Tips gegeben und uns sogar eines Abends einfach Essen gebracht! Die Wohnung ist wie auf den Fotos, sehr schön, super ausgestattet, es fehlte an nichts .Auch das Städchen Hoorn ist wie eine Märchenkulisse, vor allem die Straße, an der das Haus adressiert ist!

Traumschöne Unterkunft in einer luxuriös ausgestatteten neogotischen Kapelle – Wohnen wie im Schloss! Inmitten eines historischen Architekturensembles mit parkartigem Innenhof gelegen, ist die "Villa Alewijn" eine Oase der Ruhe im Zentrum der quicklebendigen Stadt. Dazu eine sehr nette Vermieterin, die viele gute Erlebnis-Tipps geben kann. Märchenurlaub in großartiger Atmosphäre, mitten in Hoorn, einem tollen, historisch bedeutsamen Hotspot direkt am Meer. Wunderschöne zentrale Unterkunft

Außergewöhnliches Ferienhaus

Die ehemalige Kapelle ist zu einem gemütlichen Ferienhaus mit einem großen Wohn-/Essbereich, zwei Doppelzimmern im Dachgeschoss, einer Küche und einem weiteren Nebenraum umgebaut. Das große Schlafzimmer ist ein Durchgangsraum, was für uns als Familie kein Problem war. Das Dachgeschoss ist über eine steile Treppe zu erreichen, die etwas Trittsicherheit erfordert und für ganz kleine Kinder vielleicht ein bisschen ungünstig sein könnte. Es gibt eine moderne Ausstattung mit Fernseher, Waschmaschine und Trockner. In der Küche ist eine Spülmaschine, ein Gasherd und ein sehr kleiner Backofen. Manche Einrichtungsgegenstände sind dagegen schon historisch, wie z.B. die mechanische Türglocke. Der wunderschön gestaltete und bepflanzte Innenhof kann mitgenutzt werden. Die Lage der Kapelle ist außergewöhnlich mitten in einer idyllischen Straße an einer Gracht. Innenstadt und Hafen sind gut erreichbar und in der Umgebung gibt es viele Restaurants. Auch der Stadtstrand ist etwa 15 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Das Auto muss man allerdings auch ca. 15 Minuten entfernt auf einem kostenfreien Parkplatz parken, da in der Umgebung nur Anwohner parken dürfen. Hoorn ist eine sehr hübsche Stadt und ein toller Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in umliegende Städte oder Fahrradtouren. Die Vermieterin Sophia Hoekstra ist sehr hilfsbereit, jederzeit erreichbar und hat uns bei Fragen umgehend weitergeholfen. Super Unterkunft und extrem freundliche Gastgeber

Der Aufenthalt in der Kapelle in Hoorn war großartig. Sowohl die Location an sich als auch die Gastgeber sind super. Die City ist nur wenige Meter entfernt, und auch der Strand ist in wenigen Minuten fußläufig zu erreichen. Alles in allem ein super Urlaubserlebnis. Vielen Dank.

Aussergewöhnliche Unterkunft in der Altstadt

Die kleine Kapelle liegt versteckt zwischen der Altstadt und dem historischen Hafenviertel und verfügt über einen großen, wunderschönen Außenbereich mit altem Baumbestand in absolut ruhiger Lage. Die Innenausstattung im Wohnbereich war sehr hochwertig und hat uns gut gefallen. Die Schlafmöglichkeit im kleinen Dachgeschoss war mit dem farbigen runden Kirchenfenster einzigartig. Die Badausstattung war hochwertig, wenn auch älteren Datums, aber mit Waschmaschine und Trockner gut ausgestattet. Wir fanden eine altholländische Küche vor, die mit allem Notwendigen bestückt war. Die Wohnung eignete sich aufgrund der zentralen Lage gut, um die wunderschöne Altstadt von Hoorn zu erkunden und Einkäufe zu erledigen. Eine Vielzahl an Restaurants war gut zu erreichen. Außerdem boten sich Fahrradtouren in die nähere Umgebung an. Kostenfreie Parkplätze standen an der Unterkunft nicht zur Verfügung, waren aber fußläufig in circa 10 Minuten zu erreichen. Kostenpflichtige Parkplätze gab es in der Nähe. Wir hatten einen ausgesprochen schönen und erholsamen Urlaub dort.

Ein kleines Paradies in Holland

Wir verbrachten eine wunderbare Woche in dieser märchenhaften Unterkunft. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und mit vielen wertvollen Tipps für Unternehmungen rund um Hoorn und Amsterdam versorgt. Vielen Dank dafür an die lieben Gastgeber! Das Haus und der Garten sind ein Traum, die Zimmer sind alle sehr sauber und es fehlt an nichts. Man fühlt sich sofort wie zuhause. Auch die Lage ist perfekt. Nicht nur ist Hoorn ein bezaubernder Ort, sondern auch die schnelle Anbindung an Amsterdam ist ein großer Pluspunkt. Außerdem sind auch umliegende Ziele wie Alkmaar, Edam und Volendam leicht zu erreichen. Es war einfach rundherum ein toller Urlaub mit vielen wunderschönen Eindrücken. This remarkably beautiful chapel finds itself on a unique location, close to both city centre and harbour. However surrounded by little restaurants and stores at walking distance, the residence proves an oasis of peace. This truly is ‘relaxing in an exclusive setting’. As the chapel disposes of all comfort, you will feel at home immediately.

What makes this property unique

As a tenant you will have exclusive use of the whole chapel, located in the immediate surroundings of Amsterdam and Haarlem. By car and/or train the airport is only 40 minutes away. Car parking space is available. The stunning chapel garden is a real oasis of peace, yet at walking distance from the harbour with its yachts and sailing boats and only 100 meters away from shopping streets. You will hardly find anything more romantic than this. Meanwhile you will be able to recharge your batteries, as guests keep telling us they sleep phenomenally well in our beds… they keep coming back for them! The chapel has a cosy kitchen. Nevertheless, star restaurant Lucas Rive and restaurants Van de Kroft, Hendrickje Stoffels and De Hoofdtoren are a mere 5 minutes walk away.
