About the host
Hosted by Chris & Tom Stapleton
Tom and I both grew up in Centerville, Ohio, and were married in 1987. We continue to maintain the first historic home that we purchased in 1989 in Tipp City, Ohio. We have two grown children and two dogs that we love dearly. I am a retired elementary school teacher and Tom is a builder, currently working for a heavy civil contractor. We've "rescued" and sold two older homes in our hometown, and we are excited to share our new home with you!
Why they chose this property
We started thinking about our dream retirement home several years ago, considering different lakes between Ohio and Georgia. As our search focused on the mountains along the Tennessee / North Carolina Line, we stumbled upon the relatively unknown lake called Lake Santeetlah. We knew right away that this quiet mountain lake with National Forest on 86% of the shoreline and lake levels that stay within 10 feet year round, was the perfect lake. We spent several weeks looking for our forever home, and when we walked through this house and onto the back deck for the first time, we knew that Stillwater Mountain House was the right home for us.
What makes this property unique
Come to Stillwater Mountain House, and you'll see why we chose it! Relax, surrounded by views of the lake and mountains. Rejuvenate yourself engaging in outdoor activities surrounded by nature's bounty.
