This completely renovated 2 bedroom, 1 bath home is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway or weeklong family vacation. Nestled in the protected shores of the Nantahalah National Forest, this home features a fully equipped kitchen, covered outdoor sitting area and a private dock and a brand new lakeside deck with gas firepit for 2022. A canoe, 2 kayaks and 2 stand-up paddle boards are at your disposal. This nature lover's paradise boasts miles of nearby hiking trails, fishing and swimming in the pristine waters of Lake Santeetlah. Peaceful sunrises and breathtaking sunsets will keep you coming back again and again. Be prepared to fall in love with this well kept

This pare of Western North Carolina was not impact in any significant way by tropical storm Helene and your stay should be unaffected as well.

Perfect getaway

What a beautiful, perfect getaway! Absolutely stunning setting located on the lake, very clean house and well maintained inside and out. Lots of options for paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking nearby or just taking in local sights. Highly recommend this place and the owner was always communative making the entire process relaxing and stress free!

Relaxing stay at the lake

Me and my fiancee stayed for a few days at this cottage and we had an amazing time. It was a perfect getaway from everyday busy life to a nice retreat in the peace and quiet of the lake. If you're looking for a cozy cottage and peace and quiet, this is the go-to place. We couldn't be happier with our stay and will absolutely look back into renting again!

Amazing View

Lake Santeetlah is an amazingly gorgeous place and this house has a beautiful view! Everything you need is in the house and it’s so pretty you could move right in. Loved it so much will definitely be back!

Lovely cottage on the lake

The cottage was perfect for our stay. We spent lots of time paddling on the lake, but also lots of time relaxing on the porch. Communication with the owner was excellent. The house has everything you need for a relaxing stay. We hope to be back soon.

Our second stay in this cabin was sublime. Lake Santeetlah is so beautiful in the springtime. The cabin was in immaculate condition. Marc was generous with his time and communication leading up to our stay and during the stay. If you are looking to recharge and rejuvenate, this is an ideal place. Highly recommend!

Perfect lakeside cottage

The well-decorated cottage was absolutely perfect for the two of us. Spotlessly clean, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed with quality linens, fluffy towels in bathroom. We spent most of our time on the cozy porch taking advantage of the gorgeous view of lake, mountains, and stunning sunsets. We availed ourselves of the canoe and SUP that were graciously provided by the host. Quiet, walkable community. Can’t wait to go back!

Great Place in a Special Place

Awesome spot in a beautiful surrounding. Marc was a great host! Had a few bumps but he was straightforward and steadfast in trying to rectify things. He went above and beyond. The area is really starting to develop. Sadly, not everyone cares about fitting into the surroundings as much as Marc does. His place is perfect for the environment.

Gorgeous, quiet, peaceful

Lake Santeetlah is an isolated, quaint little community with gorgeous views of the Great Smoky Mountains. This property was perfect for a couple or a family with two younger children. Most the amenities of home, plus kayaks, a canoe and stand up paddle boards! If you want a peaceful stay on the lake with breathtaking views, singing birds, rustling leaves and lapping water, this place is for you. Many hiking places nearby and only about an hour and a half drive from popular sites such as the Great Smoky Mountain National park. Definitely a hidden gem.

Our second year at this cottage, another perfect vacation!

We initially stayed at this beautiful cottage summer of 2020 and loved it so much, we “had” to come back summer of 2021! The place itself is beautifully decorated, every little detail was thoughtfully considered, from the decor to the beautiful landscaping. The view from the back porch is so peaceful, we enjoyed spending time here anytime we weren’t on the water. My teen children especially loved using the stand up paddle boards. The owners are very attentive and responsive. This place is truly a little piece of heaven! Thank you again for another wonderful trip - we will be back again!

Wonderful home!

We had a wonderful stay at the Santeetlah cabin. Our time couldn’t have been better. House was very clean, and the kitchen was stocked with any item you need to cook. One thing that was such a pleasant surprise was the quality of the sheets and towels! Most rental properties don’t have the highest quality sheets and towels and usually end up being scratchy, uncomfortable bedding and cheap, thin towels. Not this place! We slept so well! If you’re debating whether or not to book, don’t hesitate! This place is a GEM!

Unforgettable Time

The photos and description of this listing does not do it justice! Upon arriving we were in awe of the stunning view of the lake. The interior, the decor, the space was prefect. It was very clean and had all the amenities needed for our stay. It is the perfect space to relax and unwind. We spent time sipping cocoa on the upper deck as well as grilling on the lower deck. Both occasions being able to take in the beautiful view of the lake, the sunsets and the peace and quiet. Marc was a gracious host in every way. He went above and beyond! We will definitely be back!

Top Shelf Lakeside Experience

This was our third time staying at this lakeside cottage so we clearly enjoy the accommodations! We needed to adjust the dates of our stay and the owner was prompt in communication and generous at every turn. Springtime on Santeetlah Lake is as beautiful and it is peaceful. We spent a day on the lake by renting one of the new pontoon boats at Santeetlah Boat Rentals. Do yourself a favor and check those fine folks out if you get a chance. Nearby hikes and scenic drives are exceptional. The cottage was in great shape, amenities were abundant and the property was booming with flowers. Lovely setting. The one downside, and it came as a surprise, was the construction happening every week day with two new homes next door. Roofers and rock movers were working from morning to evening. It was a bit of a buzzkill if you like to enjoy morning coffee overlooking the lake because the noise was nonstop. Hopefully the work will be done soon and future renters will enjoy the space without interruption. Regardless, we love this place and will be back.
