Our property is a legally permitted vacation rental as required by Charleston City ordinance. Our certificate of operational number is OP2024-05539

One block from the heart of the entertainment district of Upper King Street. You will know you are in the South when you are greeted by 12 large palms, a live oak, and a large sycamore tree at the front of the property.

The property consists of three rental units. Unit A which is the bottom floor of the historic house, Unit B (this listing) which is the top floor of the historic house, and Unit C which is the house in the back of the property.

As you enter Unit B from your private, large porch, you will be stepping into the living room featuring a cathedral ceiling, original beams and fireplace, and historical hardwood flooring. The home was fully restored and renovated to result in Charleston charm with modern convenience.

Came to Charleston for our son’s wedding. House was clean and comfortable and had all we needed for our stay. Location was close to great restaurants and shopping. Had rain all weekend but the porch was a great place to sit and visit with family protected from the rain.

We had a great long weekend celebrating a girls trip in Charleston. This was the perfect place to stay - great location, comfortable and room for everyone. Sitting on the porch in the rockers was a highlight!

This property was conveniently located near King St with nearby restaurants. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and cooking utensils. There was a lot of space for our group of friends to have their own spacious bedrooms and gather together in the centrally located living room. The only downside is the very narrow set of stairs that made it difficult to move heavy luggage to the unit.

Perfect for our family

We were in town for a family wedding and this property was perfect in every way. The property manager met us on day one to welcome us and answer any questions we had. The property was clean, welcoming, warm, and within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, the market and waterfront. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Awesome stay in Charleston, SC

We had the best time here! Our group of 7 ladies was quite a large size to accommodate in a central area and close to all the activities, and this spot was just the ticket. Thank you Miki, everything was perfect - we really had an awesome experience in Charleston (which was a first visit for us all). Miki and husband Chuck moved to the Charleston area 10 years ago. We both thoroughly enjoy spending time downtown and around the Charleston area.

Chuck is originally from Florida and Miki from West Virginia. Prior to moving to Charleston, they spent 20 years in the Washington, DC area. Miki in the health care marketing and management industry and Chuck in the printing and marketing solutions industry. Wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the Metro area and the colder weather, we chose Charleston!

Since moving here we have been involved with restoring , renovating and managing downtown properties.

We love walking around the city looking at the various architecture designs of historical buildings, eating at the amazing restaurants, or taking in a festival or special event. On warm days you can find us on our boat with our two sons Ryan and Alec or at the beach. And of course, there are the Citadel football and basketball games. which we can't miss since Chuck is a Citadel alumni.

We fall deeper in love with Charleston every day and want you to experience the charm of the city while staying at St. Philip Place. Our renovation of this property was a labor of love and our goal was to transform it into a cozy comfortable home with modern appliances while still maintaining the historical Charleston feel.
