Our property is a legally permitted vacation rental as required by Charleston City ordinance. Our certificate of operational number is OP2024-05539

One block from the heart of the entertainment district of Upper King Street. You will know you are in the South when you are greeted by 6 large palms, a live oak, and a large sycamore tree at the front of the property.

The property consists of three rental units. Unit A which is the bottom floor of the historic house (this listing), Unit B which is the top floor of the historic house and Unit C which is the house in the back of the property.

When you step into Unit A off of the front porch, you will enter the living space. This area features an original fireplace and historic hardwood floors. The home was fully restored and renovated to provide Charleston charm with modern convenience.

This property is in the perfect location for a downtown Charleston experience. Within a block you can grab a coffee and pastry, enjoy an early evening cocktail and enjoy boutique shopping in the afternoon. All without walking the two blocks to King Street! The house itself is charming, well equipped, and provided a cozy space for our family to come together.

A Gatering place

Six lifelong friends met here. The location and living room and kitchen spaces were great for our chatting and reuniting. The bedrooms are comfortable but small. I would stay here again

Amazing stay close to King St!

Honestly might be the best rental I have ever stayed at - perfect location to get to King St without spending money on ubers. The hosts were amazing and communicated very well. Would definitely stay here again!

Everything about this property was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay. But there is a fair amount of street/parking lot noise if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. Beds are super comfy

Perfect Place to Stay in Charleston

We came to Charleston for a destination wedding and stayed in this spacious, clean, beautifully decorated condo in the heart of downtown Charleston with 4 couples; the owners are wonderful people and have thought of everything to make this the most delightful experience, we enjoyed the outside as much as the inside with sitting on the beautiful porch and being able to walk to restaurants/shops, we all look forward to going back to enjoy it all over again.

Pleasant stay

Miki and Chuck were a pleasure to work with. Any questions were answered promptly. Their Home was lovely, clean and well appointed. The location to shops, restaurants, transportation were very close and convenient. The Brown Court bakery was 2 doors down and had amazing pastries and breakfast sandwiches. I would highly recommend the Waring property if you are heading to Charleston.

Clean, comfortable, cozy and equipped!

This was a great property to stay at and Miki and Chuck were great hosts. All the important things were provided or given thought to including things like plenty of towels, bath toiletries and kitchenware. The kitchen is a nice place to visit and the bedroom locations are split between each end of the house which lends itself to a little more privacy when traveling with friends. Great location as well. We were able to easily walk or Uber wherever we wanted. Look forward to staying here again, we hope!

Great for our relaxing girls weekend

Amazing location. We did a lot of walking and it was so easy to get around. A great bakery one door down (Browns Court Bakery) and another breakfast spot about a block away (island provisions). Unit A was clean and good amenities. Owners are very kind and communicative. Only minor downfall was sound proofing is not great between Unit A and Unit B (the upstairs unit). It was tolerable, but the bachelor party upstairs clearly enjoyed their weekend.

This property was PERFECT for our family & friends during our daughter's wedding weekend. It has been beautifully renovated, is immaculate, and has so many thoughtful touches (toiletries, extra cleaning supplies, plenty of dishes, etc.) Miki was so responsive both before and during our stay and went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed. Great location, so close to fun shops & restaurants on King Street. Highly recommended!

It was clean, Miki and Chuck were welcoming and always accessible and fit 9 girls comfortably. Thank you for making my trip such a positive experience! Great Weekend

Lovely well maintained property close to everything. Seven of us stayed here comfortably. While close to some of the late night action off of King the house and the veranda are off the street enough that its not too much of a factor. Even if it was, the hosts have strategically placed white noise machines in the bedrooms closest to street to make sure you still get a peaceful sleep. Great hosts and great property, would stay with them again.

Perfect home in a perfect location!!

We had the best time in this beautiful home. There were so many fun places to walk to and explore. The outside seating made the home seem large! There were ten of us- almost 70 year olds- and we all commented on how comfortable the beds were! Attention to detail was evident throughout the home. Can’t wait to return!

Miki and husband Chuck moved to the Charleston area 15 years ago. We both thoroughly enjoy spending time downtown and around the Charleston area.

Chuck is originally from Florida and Miki from West Virginia. Previously to moving to Charleston, they spent 20 years in the Washington, DC area. Miki in the health care marketing and management industry and Chuck in the printing and marketing solutions industry. Wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the Metro area and the colder weather, we chose Charleston!

Since moving here we have been involved with restoring , renovating and managing downtown properties.

We love walking around the city looking at the various architectural designs of historical buildings, eating at the amazing restaurants, or taking in a festival or special event. On warm days you can find us on our boat with our two sons Ryan and Alec or at the beach. And of course, there are the Citadel football and basketball games. which we can't miss since Chuck was a graduate of the Citadel.

We fall deeper in love with Charleston every day and want you to experience the charm of the city while staying at St. Philip Place. Our renovation of this property was a labor of love and our goal was to transform it into a cozy comfortable home with modern appliances while still maintaining the historical Charleston feel.
