About this property
Vacation in the vineyard
Remodeled Ranch style home in the middle of a working vineyard. Quiet and charming, yet only minutes from downtown Paso Robles. Enjoy amazing sunsets or relax in the inviting spa after a long day of wine tasting. Home was remodeled in 2017 and owners live in a nearby house on this 15 acre property.
Home has two large bedrooms and two full baths. The sofa also folds out into a sleeper. We do accept up to six guests at the property. Backyard is well lit and has multiple seating areas, including a covered patio. There is also a propane barbecue available for our guests.
This is a non smoking property and parties are not allowed unless approved in advance by the owners. We want to be respectful to our neighbors, even though they aren’t nearby.

About the host
Hosted by Charles Christensen

I have lived in Southern California my entire life. My wife and I have enjoyed our visits to the wine country over the years and have always thought we would own a working vineyard some day. We live on the property and you will see us around with our two Australian Shepherds, Wilma and Fred. They are our Flintstone dogs.
Why they chose this property
We had been looking for the right property for quite some time when we first saw this property. We immediately fell in love with the property for a number of reasons. First, at 15 acres it is the right size for us - we have almost 7 acres planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Verdot vines. Secondly, we feel like we are out in the country, but we are only 10 minutes from downtown Paso Robles. Finally, we have an extra home on the property that we can share with our friends and guests.
The sunrises and sunsets are magical here and we generally get a cool afternoon breeze every day in the summer. It can get cold in the winter, but generally warms up to the high 60’s or low 70’s during the day. It’s not unusual to see temperatures over 100 during the day in the summer, but it usually drops into the mid 60’s at night.
The guesthouse is the original ranch home built on the east side of Arbor Road. The property was first developed in the mid 70’s by a lima bean farmer from Orange County. He moved up to Paso Robles from Orange County because he thought Orange County was becoming too crowded at that time. He originally owned most of the property on the east side of Arbor Road. When he needed money during retirement he simply subdivided a 15-30 acre parcel off and sold it. There are only 14 residences on Arbor Road.

What makes this property unique
Arbor Oaks Vineyard is located on the favorable west side of Paso Robles. Guests can easily walk to at least 3 vineyards from our property.
The owners are willing to assist with recommendations for restaurants and wine tasting. We enjoy meeting our guests at some point during their visit, however, we want them to feel like they are staying in their own home so we tend to give them as much privacy as they would like.
