The view was amazing. Having a private dock and beach was nice. Fishing was better than expected. Accommodations I just say were standard. Not having a working shower very disappointing. Check in was a breeze. Communication with the camp host or manager of the site was very difficult. Reached out twice by text and never receive a response. Instructions to get in touch we're not clear. Overall we did enjoy our stay and would go back as long as the shower was working.
It was a great stay. Cabin was cozy and comfortable. Fishing was great. We had a fabulous time there! This was our 4th time there and will definitely book again.
This is a quaint little gem. Perfect if you want a quiet place that is nit fancy but very comfortable. I loved it!

The housekeeping needs improvement. Baseboards were grimy and they all had dust on them. Side of stove and behind the refrigerator were disgusting. It was a nice place otherwise. Loved how close to the water it was. Plenty to do in Brainerd area
This was our second time staying in this private community but our first with this particular cabin. It's a good value but you get what you pay for. It's very bare bones with few amenities and a bit run down. The linens are dated and didn't feel very clean. There was an issue with cleanliness in general - cobwebs, grime. We tried to keep the place tidy but couldn't even find a dust pan for the broom. It would be nice to have something larger than a double bed in the main bedroom. (The kids liked the bunks.)Now for the "pros" -- The location is excellent. It's convenient to grocery stores, starbucks, restaurants, etc -- but still very private and the lake setting is gorgeous. We caught a ton of bass fishing off the dock. (bring your own gear) The communal amenities like the fire pit area and kayaks are available for guests to use which is really great. All in all we had a really fun time. Check in/out is easy and the host was responsive. The cabin could use a refresh but again, for the price and location, it's hard to complain!
Property is on a Beautiful small Lake . Great for swimming, boating and fishing. Very friendly and quiet property.
Close to many Lakes Restaurants shopping and activities for the whole family.
All that being said the cabin itself needs some attention. Needs more kitchen attention. We bought more coffee cups. Kitchen is lacking ! Cabin is small. so smaller furniture would make it more spacious.
We did enjoy our stay. Barb
This cabin is literally on the shore of Wise Lake. It’s a beautiful lake — if waterfowl watching is your thing, it will not disappoint. Families of geese, egrets, and other shorebirds. We saw a mother turtle with her nest, too.
The cabin is cozy — and a little run down. There were multiple electrical gremlins during our stay — the DVD cable didn’t work, the water heater tripped a breaker, the a/c didn’t kick on.
But we weren’t there for tech amenities, we were there for the lake. And the lake provided.

Nice lake and resort outside. Inside cabin was very poorly cared for.
Definite mismatches between the cabin description online, and experience when walking in. The small, quiet resort property and lake were very nice. Perfect for kids to play in the lake. The cabin we stayed in was poorly cared for. Very dirty. Expected clean for the per night cost with additional cleaning fee. A lack of concern from property manager after sending pictures of our concerns, with no apology but "will look into it" generic response.

GREAT CABINS!!
This is a hidden gem of the Lakes Area. We rented 3 cabins on the water for a college reunion. The cabins were all stocked with everything we needed. Plenty of space for multiple families with toddlers. Each had 2 bedrooms and a couch, and a fully stocked kitchen. Beach was very sandy, with a slow drop off, kids had a blast splashing around. There is a dock to jump off of or to park boats. One thing to note is a steep boat ramp, due to frost-heave. We were able to launch both a 18 ft fishing boat and a 24ft pontoon, but both trailers bottomed out on the concrete ramp. It isn't very forgiving, its tight, steep, and not for the inexperienced. That said, the lake is great. Clear, small, perfect for evening cruises. There also is a community cabin that has board games and all sorts of free items to use on the water. Both Taylor and Addie are wonderful to work with and manage this property well. WILL BE COMING BACK!!!
My friends and I arrived satisfied with the amenities that the cabin offers, including the overall atmosphere of a quiet campground. We did not particularly stay long at the cabin itself (except for some downtime and sleep), but it was nice to wake up in the morning with a view of the lake.
This was my second time staying in this cabin and I’m thinking we were early in the season because there were many cobwebs and dust throughout the cabin. That didn’t prevent us from enjoying the great beach and quiet lake though. I’ll definitely come back.
We had a wonderful 4 nights/4 days in Cabin #4. Location is central to all Brainerd/Nisswa has to offer, but tucked away on a nice quiet lake perfect for relaxation. The cabin was clean and included everything you would need to unplug for a few days.
Wise Lake is small with nearly no boat traffic making it a great location for families with kids. The paddle boards, kayak and beach area were a huge hit with the guests in the cabin next to us who had kids with them.
We enjoyed most mornings on the little patio, with coffee, looking out over the lake just enjoying our surroundings.
Wifi signal was strong and service was fast
A couple of things to mention:
1. Assuming the water source is well water, there was a bit of a smell but that's expected
2. Sand from around the property got tracked into the cabin regardless of how hard we tried to keep it out. We weren't able to find a broom, so we purchased one and left it behind for future guests.
3. There isn't an antenna for the TV so no local channels or cable, but we were able to connect the computer to the TV and wifi to stream a movie or two.
Overall, I'm looking forward to next summer and coming up again to Wise Lake for a bit longer!
Our 8 yr old loved the small beach area. The lake doesn't have tons of noisy boats. One can hear the nearby race track. Pretty loud. #4 cabin was right on the lake, but there was no curtain on our double window sliding door, so in the cabin, we had to avoid eye contact with beach goers. Cool to be that close to the water. Only one of the beds had some kind of bugs that give my daughter 50+ bug welts. The only outside bugs were dragonflies. Miracle. The pictures make the cabin seem bigger than it is, but it's still a pleasant cabin.

Thank you for staying. We did check the cabin for any type of bugs and confirmed there are no bugs in the cabin. Will look into the suggested items. thanks
Place is super nice and it’s right off the sandy beach, small lake is great as you don’t have big boats zooming by creating waves, perfect area and quiet.

Thanks Matt! It was great having you. Do come back again.
Found PRBR 30 years ago. Have spent a week in July with our kids, their Kids(grandchildren), and now their kids (great grandchildren), Love the beach, lake size, and the comfortable cabins. Sad to see the resort being broken up and sold. We will check in February to see if 2020 could be year 31.
Thanks for the memories!
