About this property

Historic Lodge with Modern Amenities

Welcome to Majestic Mountain Haus!

Fun Facts about this house: The Majestic Mountain Haus was built in 1971 using wood and beams from one of the oldest churches in Rowan County, North Carolina, that was dismantled in the early 1970s. The bar in the den was the original ticket counter in the train station of the steam-powered Best Friend of Charleston train. It was the first locomotive train built in the United States and had its inaugural run in 1830!

*** Majestic Mountain Haus does not have Air Conditioning. (Enjoy cool mountain breezes above 4000 feet in elevation.)
***** There is space to park two (2) cars. Additional parking is possible across from the Town of Beech Mountain Town Hall.

This lodge has modern comforts and amenities, as well as original/pre-original elements and decor. Together, they offer a unique yet charming mountain vacation experience. Suitable for groups of up to 19 people, this house sits on a high-elevation, wooded property with year-round mountain views and an outdoor, wood-burning fire pit. It is exactly one mile to the slopes of Beech Mountain Ski Resort, the ice skating rink, and the sledding hill. There are countless walking and hiking trails, marked and unmarked, and numerous rivers, creeks, lakes, and streams. Buckeye Lake Recreation Center offers indoor and outdoor activities for all who wish to partake (--> Buckeye Recreation Center <--).

Majestic Mountain Haus opens up with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams in the open-concept living, dining, and kitchen areas. The living room offers a large, wood-burning fireplace, comfortable leather sofas, a large flat-panel HDTV with a DVD player, massive windows that frame the mountain view, and a large sliding glass door leading out to the patio. The dining area boasts the original wood dining table that seats ten (10) people. Beside the dining table is seating for four (4) more people in the bar area, separating the dining room from the kitchen. The kitchen offers unique Quartz countertops and stainless appliances. There is a half bath/powder room on the main floor.

The main floor offers two queen master suites with full bathrooms and a third bedroom with two twin beds. One of the two master suites has an HDTV with expanded digital cable programming.

Games include an 8-foot slate pool table with a ping pong topper and a foosball table. A large Smart TV with a BluRay player rounds out the entertainment equipment. The room's focal point is the solid-wood bar, nearly 200 years old and originally the ticket counter in a train station. It was saved from destruction and repurposed to serve as a beautiful bar with six bar stools. Behind this bar are a bar sink and fridge. The den has a second table and chairs for gameplay or additional dining.
