Thank you for your review. We strive to create a welcoming environment for all our guests, including their furry friends and loved ones. We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear you enjoyed the atmosphere. We hope to see you again soon.
The cabin was beautiful and I loved the location. Great town and all the things you could need if you were to forget it very close by as well as dining. This place was perfectly located for us and great for sitting on the porch at night. Our kids had a blast and gave the puzzle a go for a short bit one night before giving up. Thank you so very much for allowing our family to stay in this beautiful home.

Thank you for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you found our cabin beautiful and enjoyed its ideal location. It's fantastic to know that the town amenities and dining options were convenient for you and that you were able to relax on the porch in the evenings. We're delighted that your kids had a blast, even if the puzzle proved to be a challenge! It was our pleasure to host your family, and we're glad we could contribute to your memorable vacation experience. Should your travels bring you back this way, we'd love to welcome you again. Wishing you many more happy adventures!
We were in the beautiful Smokey Mountains, so I can't complain too much. The cabin was nice, but needed some TLC. It was very spacious and each bedroom had plenty of privacy. However, the picture of the cabin is deceiving, because it looks like you would have a beautiful view. Which is totally the opposite.....there is actually no view unless you like looking at trees. The thing that needs to be addressed the most is the septic system. The smell of sewer was so strong we didn't even want to sit outside. I'm not sure what was wrong, but it was terrible.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're so glad you enjoyed the beauty of the Smoky Mountains and found the cabin spacious and private — those are qualities we strive to provide for every guest.
We’re sorry to hear that parts of your stay didn’t meet expectations. The mountain setting does mean that many cabins, including ours, are nestled among the trees, and while some guests enjoy that secluded feel, we understand that others may be hoping for more expansive views. We’ll be reviewing our listing photos and descriptions to ensure they reflect the surroundings as accurately as possible.
We also sincerely apologize for the issue with the septic smell — that’s not the experience we want for any of our guests. We’ve already contacted our maintenance team to investigate and address the issue promptly. Your feedback helps us improve, and we truly appreciate you bringing it to our attention.
We hope you were still able to make some great memories during your visit and would love the opportunity to provide a better experience in the future.
I would have giving it a 5 star but the furniture was not good at all, Table only had 3 chairs
There were bar stools but wood and hard.
Outside furniture was good Metal with no real cushions these were not very comfortable downstairs deck did have wicker and a few plastic chairs, but just didn’t feel like cleaning them. They were pretty dirty. But it did rain for two days and as an older couple, we did stayed in a little more than we normally do. Wish we could’ve played cards had a table, but no chairs. but overall, it was a beautiful older cabin

Your comments are valuable to us, and we will certainly take them into consideration for future improvements. We understand the importance of comfortable seating, especially for longer stays, and we'll work on enhancing the furniture options to better accommodate our guests' needs. Additionally, we'll ensure that the outdoor furniture is regularly cleaned and maintained to provide a more enjoyable experience. We hope that despite these shortcomings, you were still able to appreciate the beauty and character of the cabin. Unfortunately this was awful. Highly wouldn't recommend it. Safety issues and needs matinance. and
Our family tried to make due with all the minor issues we experienced on our stay. But major issues like not having doors lock or close properly, the stench of raw sewage or gas frequently randomly occuring made it difficult to enjoy the stay. Having the toilet make random bubbly sounds when using or not using toilet. My son in law injured his toe on 2x2 brick tile/slabs oddly placed on our patio causing him to bleed profusely and us having to cut 3/4 of his toenail off. The brick also made the much needed wheelchair ramp inaccessible. One reason we booked to begin with,my Mother is disabled. Too top it off we had a leak in the cieling in the lower level when jacuzzi in middle level was used . Causing worry of something happening to the electrical. This by far was the worse trip we've ever had. Was the worse experience and we will never book or recommend this place. The only apology we received was when we called the emergency number to report the water leak.
We were told matinance would come promptly in the am. We checked out and never saw matinance. We feel our vacation was hampered on what should've been an great family trip. We took this trip to spend time with our elderly parents. One disabled the other suffering from terminal Cancer. This was last trip with us. He is at the end of his journey in life.
We feel we tried to make due with issues that kept mounting making our stay go from bad to worse. Very dissatisfied with our stay.

So sorry this happened. The septic has been pumped and there was a leak that is being repaired in the jacuzzi tub. The lock has been adjusted on door. The block was for a fire pit. Again sorry this happened on your stay.

Outdated Photos
View is the #1 item we look for when selecting a cabin. The photos appear to have a spectacular view, but there was 0 view which was incredibly disappointing. Photos of the cabin must have been taken when the cabin first opened, as it was not well kept, old worn bedding, furniture, floors sloped, dishwasher did not worked. We attempted to use the dishwasher 3xs and the soap stayed in the compartment and did not clean the dishes. There was a foul smell in the bathrooms any time the water was turned on.

So sorry Lacey , we will replace dishwasher and repair the leak causing the smell.
The check-in and check-out was really simple since all we needed was the code to get in..we liked not having to go somewhere else just to check into our cabin. The cabin was in a nice place, pretty clean, very spacious. The only complaint we have is that the main floor bathroom smelled like a dead mouse the whole time we were there and it often stunk up the whole cabin if we forgot to keep the bathroom door shut. There were also a couple roaches in the kitchen.. Either of these weren't a huge deal because we know it was out in the middle of the woods. Overall great place to stay
Our family of five stayed at this
Cabin with two sets of grandparents. It was perfect - as each couple/group had their own bedroom with bathroom. The children stayed in the room with the pool table, which was plenty of space. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare a Thanksgiving meal. Very pleased with the property and highly recommend.
Our first night we were going to go driving around looking for wild life and a bear was right by our car, next night the bear was at the end of the drive way. The cabin was big, clean, the upstairs was really warm if I could make a suggestion it would be to provide Box fan in the upstairs bedroom. Also we couldn't get the tv on in the pool room, other than that it was great

Weekend getaway
Cabin was nice however, the hot tub was nasty and not on a covered porch. It rained all weekend and we could not use it on uncovered porch.

We are sorry about the hot tub condition, if you would have contacted the office we would have sent housekeeping out to take a look at it. They are cleaned and sanitized after each and every guest per state law. Unfortunately there isn't much we can do about the deck covering over the hot tub as the placement is determined by homeowner's preference.
I thought this property was pretty nice. Just a few minor details that could be addressed. For example, it says it sleeps up to 8 people, but only has seating for 7 in the kitchen area for eating. Also, not enough dishes for 8 people. Also on website it says the upper and lower bathrooms have a shower/tub combo- it is a upright shower only. 2 of the 3 doors into the cabin were very hard to open and close and lock, probably needs some attention. Overall, we were happy with our stay. When I asked management to replace a missing fire alarm and give hottub a treatment, they were there the next day.

The cabin is poorly kept!
Cabin was poorly kept, mold in shower, shower head leaked. Down stairs smelled like raw sewage. Hot tub was old and stained brown. My mom sat in a chair and fell backwards. Dead bugs in all windows, not just dead but dead with dust, clearly had not been cleaned.Chair on deck is broken and needs to be removed. House was not a clean as other cabins we have stayed in over the years. We will NEVER rent from Bear Camp cabins again. We will find a private owner rental .
Worst part was we travelled from Miami drive to cabin to only be told we had to drive another hour to the office for check in. I asked if they could give us a code and they said no. We had to drive in to go over the check out! Big waste of time... we got to the office I went in and all they wanted to do is give me a book of coupons!!! Didn’t even ask for my identification.. over all it was not a good experience, I took pictures of everything and renter beware of MOLD! My mom ended up sick.

Thank you for staying with us at Wilderness Lodge and for taking the time to submit this review about your stay. We received your message after you checked out about the issues that you have described here. Upon inspection we did find ladybugs in the windowsill at this cabin but none of the other issues that you have described here were found. We apologize that there were ladybugs in the windowsill and understand your frustration as this is an issue that we deal with in this area every year. In reviewing your reservation, we have noted that other than you contacting us via email on the date of your arrival asking us where to check in and then sending us another email the day after checking out, there was no other contact from you. During check in you were advised that if you experienced any issues during your stay to please contact us so that we may have the opportunity to correct any issues that we are able to. If you would have contacted us we could have educated you regarding the "sulfur water" that this cabin has due to being on well water. It is in no way harmful to bathe in or to ingest, it just has an odor which is normally contained by filtration. The filter did need to be changed which was done when the cabin was cleaned after your stay, however a phone call or another email would have alerted us to the issue so that it could have been rectified sooner. Finally, in response to what you stated was the "worst part" of your stay in this review, the paperwork that you returned to us on 11-8-2018 that was signed by you stating that you did read and agree to our policies states "ALL GUESTS ARE REQUIRED TO CHECK IN AT THE BEAR CAMP REALTY & CABIN RENTAL OFFICE LOCATED AT" and then gives the address for the office where all guests are required to check in. We did not only give you a book of coupons when you came to check in. You were given your amenities card, the information regarding checkout, as well as information regarding your stay with us such as calling us if there were any issues and where to take extra trash. As we already had your drivers license on file, provided by you, there was no need to ask for it again when you came to check in, but it was verified that you were the person pictured as per our policy with each and every guest. We are sorry that you will not be renting from us again as we would like the opportunity to better impress you in the future, perhaps with a cabin more suited to your needs.
